LA VERDI ORCHESTRA

LaVerdi Orchestra was founded in 1993 in Milan by Vladimir Delman and Luigi Corbani. From 1999 to 2005 the position of Music Director has been held by that today is Honorary Conductor.

Since its birth La Verdi has performed for the most prestigious concert halls, festivals and theaters in France, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland; in 2003 It has performed in Chile, Argentina and Brazil and, in the same year the orchestra has toured in the major concert halls of Japan conducted by Riccardo Chailly; in 2004 LaVerdi made his debut at the Canary Islands Festival and in 2005 It has toured Germany and France, having also some tour concerts in some of the major European cities including Frankfurt, Vienna and Budapest. In the same year the orchestra has made its debut at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence.

In 2008 the Orchestras has been asked to participate at the celebrations for the third anniversary of Benedetto XVI's pontificate conducted by Oleg Caetani. In December 2008, both the orchestra and the choir were invited to Baku, , at the II International Festival. In addition to many national commitments, in 2011 the orchestra has celebrated the opening of the spectacular Muscat in Oman. In 2013 It has been invited at the BBC Proms and has performed at the Royal Albert Hall conducted by its Music Director Zhang Xian and with the Maltese tenor . In 2015 LaVerdi has played in Montreux conducted by John Axelrod and in 2016 in Salzburg conducted by Oleg Caetanithe whole Schumann Symphonic cycle with a fantastic success of press and public.

LaVerdi has recorded the whole Shostakovitch Symphonic cycle for ARTS under the baton of Oleg Caetani, the Rossini discoveries for Decca along with Verdi discoveries and Puccini discoveries conducted by Riccardo Chailly, a CD of Rossini's arias with Juan Diego Florez and another one titled "Tenor Arias" with Joseph Calleja. Among other significant recordings we remember the aria Sempre libera from Traviata with Anna Netrebko and and the works composed by N. Rota and conducted by Giuseppe Grazioli for Decca.
