INDEPENDENT (PRIVATE) &

Admissions: Admission to an independent or is not based on a mathematical index. Rigor of courses, test scores, individual qualities and personal potential are all considered. Since admission requirements differ significantly among independent colleges, take as many rigorous college prep courses as possible, earn good grades, and be involved in school and community activities. Visit the College/Career Center, attend College Rep visit sessions, and check out college websites to obtain specific information. Plan college visits to the campuses you are interested in, if possible.
