Both overviews and specific details are offered, allowing extensive system planning. The reader is encouraged to order the detailed user's guides for programs of interest. Before ordering or deciding on which software to use, a good plan would be to familiarize yourself with the general information in this catalog. Then contact your local Datapoint Sales Office to place an order. The Software, Documentation, Supplies & Price Schedule (Document Number 60231) contains the most recent ordering numbers (model codes) and is available from your local Datapoint Sales Office. If you have not already executed a Software License Agreement with Datapoint, use the form in Appendix A. Software is released on a variety of media. Programs which run on either cassette or diskette-based systems are usually released on both media. See the Software, Documenta tion, Supplies & Price Schedule for a listing of the media available for each release. Users requiring listings should note that in most cases the program listings are only available on standard microfiche cards. These cards may be used in most commercial viewers or may be enlarged to notebook size through local microfilm commercial firms. Questions on software should be directed to your Datapoint Sales Office. FORMAT PRESENTATION The Package Title Necessary equipment to execute software. Diskette Operating System DOS.C Equipment Required: 16K or 5500 Processor, One or more 9380 Diskette Drives Optional Equipment: None Support Software: DOS.C is Datapoint's Di Operating System for the 1100/2200 series processors with 16K or more memory. While igned for the 1100/2200 series, the hardware upward compatibility of the Datapoint pro ssors enables DOS.C to be used with 5500/6600 pro cessors if desired. DOS.C supports tn 38X series diskette drives. Apart from the type of disk peripheral, DOS.C is t e same as .A and DOS.B. Equipment the software can utilize, Software Purpose Other software for but is not absolutely essential. program operation. 1-1 GLOSSARY Many words have become part of the Datapoint software and hardware vocabulary, appear ing throughout this catalog as well as other descriptive literature. This glossary includes general descriptions of common catalog usage. These printers range from 30 CPS to 900 LPM; except for speed, they all look the same to Datapoint Software. Remote Some programs permit serial data printers to be operated through a Data point 9400 Communications Adapter. These serial printers include teletypes, some thermal printers, and impact, matrix and belt printers connected for serial asynchronous data. Servo The Model Code 9250 Servo impact printer contains many additional features not common to other Datapoint printers.
