Embedded Engineer

Title: Embedded Software Engineer Reports to: R&D Engineering Manager Status: Full Time Classification : Salaried, Exempt

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work in our Madison, WI headquarters as part of our AccuWeb R&D team. Our AccuWeb products solve difficult process-control problems for customers worldwide by providing highly customized position-sensing and web guiding systems. Our products are highly integrated with our customers’ machines and many of the applications are unique, so good problem-solving skills and an ability to communicate well is a must.

As a member of the AccuWeb R&D team you will be responsible for developing the embedded software/ that will power the next generation of the company’s products, as well as customization of current systems to support customer needs.

As the Embedded Software Engineer you will: • Design and develop embedded software/firmware for 8, 16 and 32 bit (using language). • Develop closed-loop digital control systems for an industrial environment, including -based instrumentation and motor controls. • Test and debug firmware on hardware platforms. • Work with hardware engineers and purchasing to select hardware components. • Create PC-based software tools for product testing, updating or configuration. • Maintain code in repository using revision control tools. • Support research and development efforts relating to ultrasonic and infrared sensor technologies. • Support product connectivity over industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFINET and CAN. • Document product features and functionality. • All other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or computer/electrical engineering with at least 2 years of experience in embedded using C. Recent college graduates with demonstrated hands-on project work or internships are welcome to apply.

Experience with industrial control systems and industrial networking (Ethernet/CAN/Modbus) is highly desirable.
