KNDS (Amsterdam/The Netherlands) completes a decisive step towards further integration Amsterdam, 14th December 2020 Five years after the merger of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (Munich, Germany) and Nexter Systems (Versailles, France) under the joint holding KNDS, the Group’s governance is being restructured. With this new structure, the owners of the Franco- German manufacturer of military land systems – the French state holding company GIAT Industries and the German family-owned company Wegmann & Co GmbH – are continuing on the path they forged in 2015: advancing in defined milestones towards the creation of a leader in its field. The shareholders have decided to streamline the governance structure by establishing a single board of directors replacing the existing supervisory and management boards. After a first phase where the two subsidiaries got to know each other under the management of two co-CEOS and started building the company, it is time now to enter into the next phase of integration and development. The new structure will enable more efficient and coherent management of the KNDS companies and optimum leveraging of their potential and synergies. The future board of directors of KNDS will comprise ten members. Nine members will be external appointees without any direct operational responsibilities within KNDS. The tenth member will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KNDS. Unanimously, the shareholders have appointed Frank Haun to assume this role. Frank Haun has served as CEO of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann since 2003. He played a crucial role in designing and building KNDS in 2015 and has been instrumental in the success of the company since 2015 as Co-CEO.

Millionenauftrag Aus Ungarn – Rheinmetall Fertigt Waffenanlagen
30. September 2019 Millionenauftrag aus Ungarn – Rheinmetall fertigt Waffenanlagen und Wannen für Panzerhaubitze 2000 und Kampfpanzer Leopard 2 Rheinmetall übernimmt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Modernisierung des ungarischen Heeres. So fertigt das Unternehmen Waffenanlagen und Feuerleittechnik für 44 Kampfpanzer Leopard 2 sowie Waffenanlagen, Feuerleittechnik und Fahrgestelle für 24 Panzerhaubitzen 2000. Ebenso gehören dreizehn HX-und TGS-Lastkraftwagen zum Auftragspaket. Ein entsprechender Liefervertrag wurde vor kurzem unterzeichnet. Der Auftragswert beläuft sich auf rund 300 MioEUR netto. Die Lieferungen beginnen 2021 und dauern bis 2025. Rheinmetall ist bei dem Vorhaben Partner von Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). KMW hatte im Dezember 2018 von den ungarischen Landstreitkräften den Auftrag zur Lieferung von 44 neu gefertigten Kampfpanzern Leopard 2A7+ und 24 neu gefertigten Panzerhaubitzen PzH2000 erhalten. Ungarn wird damit der 19. Leopard-2-Nutzerstaat und der achte Nutzerstaat der PzH2000. Rheinmetall ist der Entwickler und Originalhersteller der 120 mm-Glattrohr-Technologie, die in allen Versionen des Kampfpanzers Leopard 2 verwendet wird. Gleiches gilt für die 155mm-L52-Waffenanlage der Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000). Die weltweit bewährte 120mm-Glattrohrtechnologie wurde durch Rheinmetall sowohl waffen- als auch munitionsseitig stetig weiterentwickelt. Die für den Leopard 2A7+ vorgesehene druckhöhere 120mm-Waffenanlage L55A1 ist Ende 2017 erfolgreich qualifiziert worden und wird seit Mitte 2018 bereits für zwei Leopard 2-Nutzerstaaten geliefert und eingerüstet. Die Waffenanlage L55A1 ist darüber hinaus zum Verschießen der programmierbaren Mehrzweckpatrone DM11 befähigt. Rheinmetall verfügt darüber hinaus über eine umfangreiche Kettenfahrzeug-Expertise bis hin zum OEM. Die Fahrgestelle der Panzerhaubitze 2000 sind bei Rheinmetall entwickelt worden. As of 1 January 2017, he will be assuming the leadership of the KMW subsidiary in Singapore, being in charge of all sales and after-sales activities for the Asian/Pacific region. Christoph Cords joined KMW in 2007. At the request of Corporate Management in 2009 he took up a managerial position at ARTEC GmbH, a joint venture of KMW and Rheinmetall for the BOXER Project. Athens, 26.08.2013: METKA S.A. is pleased to announce a significant industrial co- production agreement with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KMW chose METKA to supply defined metal structures of the hull and turret for 62 LEOPARD 2 main battle tanks for the Middle East market. KNDS records another successful business year Amsterdam, 14 June 2021 The defence technology group KNDS, in which Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (Germany) and Nexter (France) merged to form the leading European company for military land systems, ammunition and related services, has presented its key figures for fiscal year 2020. In 2020, the group achieved remarkable results in an unprecedented context due to the Covid crisis, thus demonstrating its robust business model, its resilience and its strong economic and financial position. With 3,3 billion euro of order intake, the consolidated order backlog grew to a record 10.6 billion euro. Major orders were the midlife upgrade for the 322 FENNEK vehicles of the Netherlands Army, 24 LEGUAN bridge layers for the German Bundeswehr, 42 JAGUAR, 271 GRIFFON, and 364 SERVAL vehicles related to the SCORPION program, as well as support and services activities for the French army, and CAESAR guns for a new export customer. The group generated 2,4 billion euro of revenue, while its workforce grew to 8,270 employees. “In 2020, we met or exceeded all our commercial targets,” said Frank Haun, CEO of KNDS, in assessing the company’s performance. “In addition, Nexter and KMW are integrating faster and more strongly to become the joint pacesetter for key innovations in the field of military land systems. PRESS RELEASE LEGUAN – Bridge layers for Finland Munich/Tampere, June 2018 – The procurement authority of the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) is modernising and expanding the Leguan bridge layer fleet. To this end, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) has signed a contract with the national general contractor for the project, Patria Land Systems Oy. This project makes Finland the sixth user to introduce the ability to lay short Leguan bridges, modernising all systems with respect to performance and future viability. Moreover, equipment package deliveries and supports services in the construction of four more new Leguan systems with Leopard 2 chassis have been ordered. The contract will be carried out in 2019 and 2020. The Leguan bridge layer system is used by 17 countries, not only giving it unique interoperability, but also creating ideal framework conditions for cooperation for receiving and refining the system. Capítulo segundo Análisis de las capacidades terrestres de los países de nuestro entorno José María Martínez Ferrer Resumen Los Ejércitos de Tierra de los cinco países estudiados (Reino Unido, Fran- cia, Alemania, Italia y España) han tenido una evolución paralela desde el final de la Guerra Fría, aunque marcada por el nivel de ambición de las naciones respectivas (aspiraciones globales en el caso de Reino Unido y Francia y, con matices, de potencia media en Alemania, Italia y España). El foco en la defensa territorial, la disuasión y el combate convencional de alta intensidad dio paso a las operaciones expedicionarias y la gestión de crisis, intentando mantener una alta capacidad tecnológica mientras dis- minuía sensiblemente la entidad de la fuerza en el marco de una reducción presupuestaria sostenida. El interés por las fuerzas terrestres repuntó tras el 11-S con el énfasis en las operaciones de contrainsurgencia y estabili- zación en Irak y Afganistán, sin embargo, el ambiguo e insatisfactorio final de ambas campañas inhibió el interés político por las intervenciones te- rrestres, junto al severo impacto de la crisis económica de 2008 en Euro- pa occidental. No obstante, los acontecimientos de 2014 (la intervención rusa en Ucrania y la reactivación del terrorismo yihadista internacional del Dáesh/Estado islámico, junto a la desestabilización crónica de Siria-Irak y Libia), junto a una ligera mejora de las perspectivas económicas de Europa, parecen haber reavivado la relevancia de los Ejércitos de Tierra, cuyas ca- pacidades se han erosionado significativamente en los últimos veinte años.
