Levels of field CV greater than There is confusion as to what a CV (the ratio of the 40% for spreading N fertiliser produces a 20% yield standard deviation to the mean) means in fertiliser reduction, which in terms of urea on dairy pasture is spread. Some of the confusion is a result of there being potentially around $170 million nationally, and is two commonly used terms when discussing fertiliser economically significant. • Air New Zealand Adjusted Its Business Quickly to Manage the Impact of Covid-19
Media release 27 August 2020 Air New Zealand adjusted its business quickly to manage the impact of Covid-19 Air New Zealand today announces its 2020 result, affirming the unprecedented effect of the Covid- 19 pandemic on its business and the global aviation industry following extensive travel and border restrictions which commenced from March. Air New Zealand is reporting a loss before other significant items and taxation of $87 million1 for the 2020 financial year, compared to earnings of $387 million in the prior year. Despite reporting a strong interim profit of $198 million2 for the first six months of the financial year, and seeing positive demand on North American and regional routes early in the second half, Covid- related travel restrictions resulted in a 74 percent drop in passenger revenue from April to the end of June compared to the prior year, which drove the airline’s operating losses. Statutory losses before taxation, which include $541 million of other significant items, were $628 million, compared to earnings of $382 million last year. Non-cash items of $453 million reflected most of the other significant items, including the $338 million aircraft impairment charge related to grounding of the Boeing 777-200ER fleet for the foreseeable future. The airline has responded to this crisis with urgency, including securing additional liquidity, structurally reducing its cost base and deferring significant capex spend, whilst ensuring that the business remains well positioned to grow profitably when travel restrictions are eventually removed and customer demand returns. Quick and decisive action in response to Covid-19 Air New Zealand’s Chairman Dame Therese Walsh says she is proud of the way the business has responded to this crisis, acting with speed and agility to lower the cost base, and pivoting quickly to ramp up domestic and cargo services to help keep the New Zealand economy moving.

  • Submission to the Productivity Commission on the Draft Report on Better Urban Planning
SUBMISSION TO THE PRODUCTIVITY COMMISSION ON THE DRAFT REPORT ON BETTER URBAN PLANNING 1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.1 The New Zealand Airports Association ("NZ Airports") welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Productivity Commission's Draft Report on Better Urban Planning ("Draft Report"). 1.2 NZ Airports has submitted on the Resource Legislation Amendment Bill ("RLAB") and presented to the Select Committee on the RLAB, and has also submitted on the Proposed National Policy Statement on Urban Development Capacity ("NPS-UDC"). Our members have also been closely involved in extensive plan review processes in Auckland and Christchurch. Such participation is costly and time consuming - but necessary, given the important role the planning framework plays in our operations. 1.3 As discussed in our previous submissions, it is fundamental to the development of productive urban centres that residential and business growth does not hinder the effective current or future operation of New Zealand's airports. 1.4 In our view, the Draft Report does not adequately acknowledge the importance of significant infrastructure like airports in the context of urban planning and the need to effectively manage reverse sensitivity effects on such infrastructure. This is reflected in some of the Commission's recommendations which seek to limit notification and appeal rights and introduce the ability to amend zoning without using the Schedule 1 process in the Resource Management Act 1991 ("RMA"). NZ Airports has major concerns with such recommendations as they stand to significantly curtail the ability of infrastructure providers to be involved in planning processes and have their key concerns, such as reverse sensitivity effects, taken into account.

  • Tour Club Leisure Guide 2021
Tour Club Leisure Guide 2021 Issue No. 17 | 1 Welcome to Bay Tours & Charters Leisure Guide As I write this, and we head into Christmas and the holiday season it’s hard not to reflect on what has been a difficult year for all of us. Not too many of us will be sorry to see the back of 2020. From a business perspective, there’s never been a more difficult time to be in the tourism industry. The international visitors are no longer here and who knows when they’ll be back. No more cruise ships stopping at Napier until further notice. And whilst some may say “Thank goodness for that. No more traffic nightmares in central Napier, no more hordes of people up Te Mata Peak!” the reality is that thousands of households in Hawke’s Bay rely on the income generated by tourism and a very significant chunk of that has simply disappeared. Napier, in particular, has relied heavily on tourism for decades and whilst the international visitors are no longer currently here, Kiwis have returned to Hawke’s Bay in droves and I suspect this summer, visitations to the region will have more of a family feel. Here at Bay Tours, whilst we certainly haven’t been immune to the huge drop in overseas visitors, we’re thankful for the continued success of the Tour Club. It has been truly heartening to look back at the last 6 months and recall how enthusiastically members responded to our first tentative steps to get out and about again after the lockdown.

  • Air Transport
The History of Air Transport KOSTAS IATROU Dedicated to my wife Evgenia and my sons George and Yianni Copyright © 2020: Kostas Iatrou First Edition: July 2020 Published by: Hermes – Air Transport Organisation Graphic Design – Layout: Sophia Darviris Material (either in whole or in part) from this publication may not be published, photocopied, rewritten, transferred through any electronical or other means, without prior permission by the publisher. Preface ommercial aviation recently celebrated its first centennial. Over the more than 100 years since the first Ctake off, aviation has witnessed challenges and changes that have made it a critical component of mod- ern societies. Most importantly, air transport brings humans closer together, promoting peace and harmo- ny through connectivity and social exchange. A key role for Hermes Air Transport Organisation is to contribute to the development, progress and promo- tion of air transport at the global level. This would not be possible without knowing the history and evolu- tion of the industry. Once a luxury service, affordable to only a few, aviation has evolved to become accessible to billions of peo- ple. But how did this evolution occur? This book provides an updated timeline of the key moments of air transport. It is based on the first aviation history book Hermes published in 2014 in partnership with ICAO, ACI, CANSO & IATA. I would like to express my appreciation to Professor Martin Dresner, Chair of the Hermes Report Committee, for his important role in editing the contents of the book. I would also like to thank Hermes members and partners who have helped to make Hermes a key organisa- tion in the air transport field.
