Travelers on the Grand Tour of Switzerland are treated to cultural and regional gems as they explore five Alpine passes, four language zones, and many UNESCO World Heritage sites. The route goes all around and through Switzerland. In the Zurich region, the Grand Tour of Switzerland passes through Rapperswil and Zurich to the Rhine Falls, offering breathtaking countryside, culture and culinary experiences. The highlights of the Zurich section are the cities of Rapperswil, Zurich and Winterthur, as well as the delightful drive along Lake Zurich to the Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest waterfall. This adventurous road trip is also available as the E-Grand Tour for electric vehicles.

The recommended time to travel is summer, from April through October. The Grand Tour is marked with official signposts, traveling in a clockwise direction. Within the Grand Tour itinerary, you will find sections that offer guided tours, including “Half-Day Trip to the Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein” (Tour 19) and “Day Trip to Berne With Food Tasting” (Tour 21).
