Budget: A budget is an es mate of income and expenditure over a specific period.
Government A government budget is a document presen ng the es mated income from taxes and other sources and the es mated spending Budget: of government over a specific financial year. In Pakistan the financial year spans from July and June.
Ci zens’ Ci zens' Budgets are designed to present key public finance informa on to a general audience. They are typically wri en in Budget: accessible language and incorporate visual elements to help non-specialist readers understand the informa on. Issuance of ci zens' budget is a rare prac ce in Pakistan; For the FY 2020-21 provincial governments of Balochistan, Punjab and Kyber Pakhtunkhwa produced such document. No district government has ever issued any ci zens' budget at all. In 2017, for the first me CPDI produced Ci zens budget at district level. This is the 4th Ci zens' budget document produced in Pakistan at district level. Ci zens' Ci zen's Budget is an exhaus ve and elaborate exercise. We at CPDI have taken a unique step in preparing district centric Budget Ci zens' Budget. CPDI Budget Team extracted data from provincial budget books of the relevant fiscal year. For extrac on of by CPDI: data, the provincial development budget has been read thoroughly project by project. The projects rela ng to Ghotki district have been depicted in the Ci zens' Budget 2020-21.

Why Ci zens Must Pay Taxes? The government requires money to perform its func ons and provide services to the ci zens. To finance these services government collects taxes and fees from ci zens. The government would not be able to provide for law and order, health, educa on, roads, system of jus ce, water supply and sanita on and other services if ci zens fail to pay their taxes.
