DISTRICT GHOTKI The district is divided into three clear physical parts i, desert area ii, cultivable area and 3 flooded area ( katcha ). The district Ghotki is spread over area of 6,975 sq. KMs or 1, 5 55,528 acres, in which desert constitutes 25,000 acres of land. The desert area, which is consisting of hills of wind blown sand that known as Achhro Thar (White Desert) which starts from Sanghar district to Choolistan (Punjab) along with Indian border state Rajistan. It goes along with southern belt of District. The cultivable area is locating between desert and floody areas in the centre of district. It is declared fertile land of Sindh and irrigated through Ghotki Feeder of Guddu barrage irrigation system. The river Indus flows adjacent to the district in the north and its direction of flow from North‐East to South‐ West. The length of riverian tract is 87 KMs. The Floody plain is called Katcha, bounded by safety bunds and river forests abound in the area. The total area of district under forest and katcha is 402,578 acres, which is total area’s 25.88% percent. Ghotki district have 5 tahsils with 40 UCs, following are Flood affected UCs TAHSIL UBAURO: Ranvti, ,Wasti Jeewan Shah, ,Langho and Pakka Chandio TAHSIL GHOTKI: Qadir pur, Hussain Beli, M Khan Ghoto ,Baghoo Daho and Umar Daho.
