Long distance travel through Lachlan Shire is not recommended for 2wd and small SUV vehicles with sealed roads flooded and unsealed roads damaged by flash flooding. Road closures also affect high clearance vehicles at several locations. Please take a safer alternate route or better still, defer travel if not essential. See also attached map. No access currently through Lachlan Shire Council for Heavy vehicles – Headers and associated vehicles due to road damage and flood waters. Suitable access available via Hillston Cobar on the Kidman Way or Newell Hwy detour. Currently access is available from West Wyalong via Lake Cargelligo and Euabalong West for light vehicles to Mount Hope and Cobar on the Kidman Way Condobolin currently has access to Cobar (partly on unsealed roads); Dubbo via Albert and Trangie; Nyngan via Tottenham; and Dubbo, Orange and Forbes via Parkes. Condobolin access to West Wyalong and Lake Cargelligo via Girral – Now closed. Extra caution is advised as several roads are affected by current flooding or the residual effects from previous flooding, including soft shoulders, washouts, bog holes, potholes, slippery road surfaces, debris, water on roads and hidden hazards under water. Conditions can change quickly. Tottenham area - Bogan River at Dandaloo is currently at 3.71m and falling. The creeks west of Tottenham have been flooding with some damage sustained to the roads, so caution is advised. Tullamore–Narromine road now open to vehicles under 3 tonne – severe road damage. MR347 Dandaloo Road, Albert-Trangie – open with caution, temporary repairs. SR3 Tabratong Crossing Road, Tottenham-Nevertire – open with caution, temporary repairs and one lane traffic access. SR1169 Bobadah Road, west of Tottenham, open with caution at Bulbodney Creek causeway and road works (single lane with temporary repair). SR5 Lansdale Road caution at Moore Creek. Closed where signposted at large hole in centre of road under water, between Bulbodney Creek and Moore Creek. SR11 Moira Vale Road west of Tottenham is Open to all vehicles at Tigers Camp Creek Repairs have taken place due to severe washout. SR1347 Albert Road at Bulbodney Creek has .2m water crossing causeway use caution. Water has now subsided but will rise with more rainfall Lachlan River at Forbes is falling at 9.16m and falling at Jemalong at 7.77m, Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) advice for the Lachlan River: Is falling slowly at 6.94m at Condobolin with major flooding and falling very slowly. Peak predicted near 7.1m at Euabalong around Tuesday 11th October with major flooding. The Euabalong gauge was last showing 7.02m at 8:00am today and rising. More land holders near the river will lose access – sandbag houses, and move pumps, stock and selves to higher ground before roads are closed by flooding. Lachlan River – no direct routes available Forbes - Condobolin - Lake Cargelligo/Euabalong. Expect all roads near Lachlan River including Lachlan Valley Way to be impassable in many places later in the week and ongoing for several days or weeks. Roads currently impacted include: Lachlan Street is now closed to all traffic. SR85 North Forbes Road (east of Condobolin) – Road closed from SR376 Willow Bend Road. Over 2m deep at concrete causeway, recommend taking SES advice to move stock out and prepare to evacuate. MR57S The Gipps Way (Condo-West Wyalong) – Closed to all Vehicles no detour in place. Please consider alternate route or defer travel if possible: o Causeway 2km south of Condobolin (Smyth’s Corner) – Closed to all Vehicles no access to any vehicles to West Wyalong or Lake Cargelligo o Diggers Avenue between the race track and the pony club – is now closed to all Vehicles no access to any vehicles to West Wyalong or Lake Cargelligo. No access to Forbes from south of Lachlan River – alternate via Parkes, refer to Parkes Shire, or Roads and Maritime Services live traffic website. o Murie Culvert Bridge is closed due to high water and road pavement damage MR377 Lachlan Valley Way – closed in Forbes Shire, water over road. Current access Condobolin to Forbes is via Parkes but conditions may change. See Forbes Shire for the latest information and RMS live traffic website for Newell Hwy information. MR377 Lachlan Valley Way (Condobolin – Forbes) – caution, is now only accessible by high clearance vehicles water on edge of road and over road in numerous locations near Condobolin at .3m water depth at centre line and over the road at 11km from Condobolin near SR90 Grassmere Road. MR7521 Kiacatoo Road 4km west of Kiacatoo Hall is closed, flooded and road damage. Kiacatoo to Euabalong via bridge and Lachlan Valley Way (River road) is closed by flooding, Alternate route to Euabalong via Euabalong West and Bimbella Road then Glenderry road to Palesthan Road and into Condobolin light vehicles, high clearance only no heavy vehicle access. MR7521 Kiacatoo Road west of Condobolin is closed 4km west of Condobolin between the old abattoir hill and the rail crossing and as far as Kiacatoo Bridge and boundry. No current access Condobolin to Lake Cargelligo for heavy vehicles. SR59 North River Road closed water over road and rising south of Kiacatoo Bridge SR1411 Lachlan Valley Way – closed water over road and rising at Euabalong bridge. SR230 Lachlan Valley Way (unsealed Condobolin-Lake Cargelligo road, aka river road), closed at causeways 1km and 7km east of Euabalong turnoff (west of SR1006 Brotherony Road), water over road. SR1006 Brotherony road closed road damage SR230 Lachlan Valley Way water over road between SR59 North River Road and SR1029 Tullibigeal Road SR231 Curlew Road, north off Lake Cargelligo Road – closed north of Denise Drive. SR30 Mooney Lane off MR7521 Kiacatoo Road – caution, water over road, closure expected. SR90 Grassmere Road – Closed at causeway before Borambil Bridge has .6m water across. SR91 Marsden Road between MR377 Lachlan Valley Way and SR97 Driftway Road Closed to all traffic SR97 Driftway Road Closed to all traffic Condobolin area - other roads and accesses impacted - caution advised, water, debris or damage: SR376 Willow Bend Road caution water on road Open, after Willow Bend accessible by high clearance vehicles only Area of Goobang Creek and tributaries east of Condobolin. Roads crossing Murda Creek, north and west of Condobolin. SR118 Bolo Road west of Condobolin – open with caution, boggy. Alternate access to Chapel via SR409 Delladale Lane off SR230 Lachlan Valley Way (river road) west of Kiacatoo bridge. SR94 Diggers Road – Closed, flood water on road SR46 Boona West Road caution bog hole Lake Cargelligo area - roads currently impacted by local flooding include: MR423 Lachlan Valley Way (Euabalong Road) Caution water over road on the flood plain between Murrin Bridge and Euabalong in Cobar Shire council open vehicles 3 tonne and under SR192 Trigalong River Rd, Lake Cargelligo - closed at causeway for water release from lake. SR212 Hoopers Road, west of Lake Cargelligo – open, caution water over road. SR214 Nilssons Lane, east of lake Cargelligo – caution, water over road (swamp rising). Roadworks to raise lane partly completed with further works anticipated as swamp level rises. Low clearance light vehicles to proceed with caution owing to uneven surface. SR200 Morris Lane – caution, water over road SR201 Keeleys Lane – caution at causeway on southern end. SR202 Quinanes Lane – caution, water over road SR204 Bartholomews Road – caution, water over road SR208 Brewer Lane – caution, water over road SR199 Bootoowa Road – caution , water over road SR210 Harts Lane – caution, water over road SR1006 Brotherony Road – closed south of SR230 Lachlan Valley Way. Burcher – Condobolin area - Humbug Creek floods moving north past Banar Swamp to Lachlan River. Current impacts include: MR7513 Lake Cargelligo Road (Condobolin – Lake Cargelligo) – closed to all traffic – fast flowing water over road at Banar Swamp (aka Dawsons Swamp), 5km west of MR57 The Gipps Way (Condobolin-West Wyalong road). MR231 Wyalong Road, Lake Cargelligo - Girral - West Wyalong, is open but check with Bland Shire for closure at Ungarie after rain (and impacts on potential alternate routes). SR90 Grassmere Road at Humbug Creek south of Condobolin, caution flooding. SR91 Marsden Road is closed between SR97 Driftway Road and SR101 Corinella Road, then closed between SR101 Corinella Road and SR1145 Lake Cowal Road SR102 Clargo Road at Humbug Creek south of Condobolin, caution, flooding. SR123 Stidwells Lane north of Ungarie - closed at road works south of SR413 Keronga Rd. SR1145 Burcher Road east of Burcher - closed across lake to Bogies Island – holes, muddy. SR101 Corinilla Bridge - closed water over road east side of bridge at causeway. Floodwaters flowing from the Lake Cowal system, Manna Creek and Bogandillon Swamp are impacting roads to the north toward. Council regrets the inconvenience, but the safety of road users is of prime importance. Road information can be found on RMS livetraffic website which has links to adjacent councils when roads are affected – search for home pages of Bogan Shire (Nyngan), Warren Shire, Narromine Shire, Parkes Shire, Bland Shire (West Wyalong), Cobar Shire, Carathool Shire (Rankins Springs and Hillston areas), Forbes Shire. In a flood or storm emergency, call the SES on 132 500. Note that it is an offence to drive past a road closed sign and insurance cover may be affected. Please avoid walking or driving through flood waters, it may be deeper and faster flowing than anticipated. The road may have suffered extensive damage hidden beneath the water.

    Local plumbing regulators in NSW On-site plumbing and drainage compliance and inspections This document outlines who performs the functions of the plumbing regulator in NSW. Under the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2011 NSW Fair Trading is the plumbing regulator in New South Wales. The Plumbing Code of Australia is the technical standard for compliance throughout NSW. It is the responsibility of the plumbing regulator in each area to set requirements for inspections of on-site plumbing and drainage. Fair Trading’s area of operation includes all areas in which properties are provided with services (either drinking water, recycled water or a sewerage service) by Sydney Water Corporation or Hunter Water Corporation. This area of operation stretches from Gerringong in the south (the Illawarra), to Newcastle, Port Stephens and Dungog in the north (the Hunter), and west to Mount Victoria (Blue Mountains). The function of the plumbing regulator has been delegated by Fair Trading to local councils, county councils, or other qualified bodies. The delegation of the function has been accepted by local and county councils across NSW, with a small number of exceptions where the council declined the delegation. Below are two tables identifying the local authority for plumbing regulator functions, including conducting inspections, throughout NSW by local government area.
