Vineyard Manager
Treaty Line Vineyards, located in Cambridge City, Indiana, is seeking a motivated and passionate grower to produce premium quality cold-hardy wine grapes at our estate vineyard. We are looking for the right person to lead our viticulture program. Someone who possesses a high degree of precision, artistry, dedication and fortitude.

Some things that set our operation apart: • We are dedicated to using estate fruit (only) at our future winery. • We grow our grapes using cane pruning on a VSP system with 6 ft vine spacing. • We are committed to sustainable farming (when practical). • We aggressively chase karma in the vineyard and believe the vineyards will oblige. • We believe only the surface had been scratched for wine quality in hybrid grapes. • We are dedicated to terroir and to producing a wine that will speak to our site.
Some things you will be responsible for: • Efficient and flexible planning, scheduling and execution • Pruning, Canopy Management, Harvest operations • Tissue and Soil Sampling, Scouting, Record keeping, WX monitoring • Integrated Pest Management (Pesticide Spray, Weed, Insect & Vertebrate programs) • Cover cropping, Irrigation/Fertigation, Fertilization Programs • Vineyard planning, planting and installation
Our vineyards are currently in third leaf. We have 6.5 acres planted to 10 different varieties (Vignoles, Regent, Marquette, Landot Noir, Melody, Traminette, Chambourcin, Chelois, NY81, & Golden Muscat) with plans to expand another 8 acres in the next 3+ years. Initially, you will work closely with our owners to understand the vision, set-up, and quality standard of the company; then all operational calls will be yours. We are passionate, but serious, about this endeavor, and therefore open to negotiating creative employment solutions and salary options to ensure we find the right individual (or individuals) for our team!
