JUAN CARLOS RODRÍGUEZ Composer TELEVISION CREDITS JUAN CARLOS RODRÍGUEZ Composer JUAN CARLOS RODRIGUEZ (Based in LA - Has Dual Citizenship) is a Venezuelan-born pianist, producer, and composer who started his music career in 2000 and has gone on to become a 4 time recipient of the prestigious BMI Film & TV Award for his work for NBC's/Telemundo, as well as for his work on the 5 time Emmy nominated Hulu’s series East Los High. Early in his career, Juan had the opportunity to work with Colombian artist Shakira as a Recording Engineer on her Multi-Platinum album Laundry Service and with the band Bacilos as a keyboard player/arranger on their Double Grammy Award winning album Caraluna. Residing in Venice, California, Juan has established himself as an instrumental/dramatic composer and songwriter for Film and TV. Recent works include Hulu's East Los High season 4, the hour long extended episode East Los High- Finale and the series Matador for Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network for which he won a nomination at the 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Best Score. Juan is currently working on the series El Señor de Los Cielos, season 5. Juan holds a degree in Film Music Composition from Berklee College of Music. Giordano, Ph.D. Abstract This dissertation brings a new approach to Silvina Ocampo studies by using the theory of uncanny and fantastic fields. It has been a great contribution the theoretical foundations of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud The Uncanny and Irène Bessière Le récit fantastique. The main book is titled Fantasy: The Literature of Subversion by Rosemary Jackson as it integrates the notions raised by Tzvetan Todorov and Irène Bessière. Jackson's contribution has allowed me to clarify the definition of the fantastic and the uncanny to the development of this dissertation. I think the term paraxial deserves special mention because it reaffirms the fantastic not categorically defined within the real or unreal, but rather is considered as an ambiguity. Some short stories of the writer show signs of ambiguity, a characteristic of the fantastic, but this does not classify all her works within this category. I do not intend to place it within a literary genre because it’s narrative is presented in influence of various literary forms. I proved, however, that it leans more toward the uncanny rather than other narrative categories. Silvina Ocampo is an Argentina writer who seduces readers with an approach contrary to convention.

La presente investigación analiza y compara los factores económicos y rasgos narrativos dominantes que explican su posicionamiento en el país Ibérico, durante los años 2005 a 2009. Se advierten tres elementos destacables: primero, una oferta diversificada de títulos de este país, a precios competitivos; segundo, la expansión de nuevos mercados y búsqueda de fórmulas nuevas mediante coproducciones multinacionales, y tercero, una reformulación de la retórica audiovisual adaptada a un mercado internacional más amplio sin perder su esencia tradicional como relato melodramático.

Prada officially declared himself a Catholic writer in 1995 and is also a columnist in the conservative Spanish daily ABC. This study traces the evolution and trajectory of this Pradian Catholic sensitivity, which is neither homogeneous nor static and which includes positions that ridicule the beliefs and practices of the Catholic religion, criticism and praise of the priest figure, a Catholic tone in his imagery and iconography, and an explicit defense of the institution of the Catholic Church and its spiritual treasures. Moreover, this Catholic sensitivity communicates the message of hope and redemption in the midst of a sinful world. The examination of the different Catholic subject positions of Prada was undertaken through textual analysis and the direct intervention of the author through interviews.
