2018-2019 HIGH SCHOOL ACCELERATION PROGRAMS LATE APPLICATION INFORMATION

Congratulations on taking the first step toward a world class educational opportunity! High School Acceleration Programs are designed to shorten the path to a traditional 4-year college degree by providing opportunities for students to begin earning college credit while in high school. Duval County Public Schools offers four High School Acceleration Programs: Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone, Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), Early College, and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

IMPORTANT DATES AND INFORMATION  The priority application deadline has now passed. LATE Applications are being accepted and will be processed bi-weekly beginning April 23, 2018. Please submit LATE applications to the Office of High School Acceleration Programs located at 1701 Prudential Drive, 3rd Floor, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Only complete applications containing original signatures are accepted. Applications may NOT be faxed or sent via email. The District Office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM-4:30 PM.  Decision notifications will be sent by US mail. Students offered a seat in one of the High School Acceleration Programs must submit a signed commitment form by the date listed on the offer letter to the Office of High School Acceleration Programs.  Students without FSA results and/or grades in the Duval County Public School system (Focus) must provide official copies of the student standardized test score reports from Grade 7, Final Grade 7 Report Card, and Grade 8 Report Card showing Quarter 1 and 2 grades at the time of application submission. If accepted, Non- DCPS students must provide an official transcript once final grades have posted for the school year.

EVALUATION CRITERIA Admissions into an acceleration program will be based on the following criteria. Applicants will be ranked in order according to the total points. 32 points – Grade 7 Core Academic Final Grades (English, Math, Social Studies, and Science) 30 points – Grade 7 FSA and/or NRT in Reading & Math 28 points – Grade 8 Core Academic Grades (Quarter 1 & 2 English, Math, Social Studies, and Science) 10 points – Personal Statement

Minimum application requirements for all HSAP programs: Minimum Level 3 on Grade 7 FSA and/or NRT in Reading and Math, minimum 2.75 annual middle school GPA and student personal statement (see page 2).
