The celebrations of the 73rd celebration at Board Campus year of independence were held at the Board Campus with traditional zeal and fer- vour but this time due to COVID-19 the ceremony was simple but elegant. No one can deny the im- portance of sports in the life of a person. In these times, when man has become a working machine, the value of sports is in- creased many times. The need for physical activities is felt more than ever before. The honourable Chairman participated in these sessions and highlighted the importance of sports in the life of a person. Corruption is a menace that is destroying the fabric of our society. It hinders the growth and progress of a country. National Accountability Bureau is working hard to check the menace of corruption in our country. A seminar on the topic of “Anti-Corruption and Character Building” was arranged with the co-operation of National Accountability Bureau in the conference room of the Board. In this seminar, Director (NAB) Muhammad Hussnain Ahmed and two Assistant Directors of NAB participated. The exams of SSC / HSSC (Annual, 2020) were not held due to Corona crises except th 10 class exams. Due to corona factor, the result was declared under special Covid-19 policy. According to this policy, the students who passed their previous exams were promoted to the next classes on the basis of their previous result.

The 10th class results were declared according to the examinations conducted this year.

In practical subjects, 50% of the total practical marks were granted to all qualifying can- didates while remaining 50% marks were awarded proportionate to their obtained marks in the theory of the relevant subjects.

The candidates who were not satisfied with their result were provided an opportunity to appear in the Special Covid-19, exam.

Moreover, additional marks up to 3% of total marks obtained in Part–I were added in the aggregate marks to all the candidates, who did not avail the option of Special Covid- 19 Exams.

At the end of the Mehfil-e-Milad, the Chairman along with Molana Saqib Raza Mustafai picked the names of employees for Hajj and Umrah through draws. Four employees were chosen for Hajj and five for Umrah. The names of fortunate employees for Hajj are Mubashar Khaliq, Haji Ijaz Ahmed, Muhammad Bilal and Husnain Tariq. The other five employees chosen for Umrah are Ali Raza, Muhammad Ishaq, Muhammad Ishfaq, Manzoor Ahmed and Meraj-din.

Workshop on PEEDA Act 2006 The knowledge of laws and rules provides a founda- tion on which the super structure of a good admin- istration can be erected. The lack of knowledge of laws and rules leads towards mal-administration. It is not good for an organization that its employees are ill-equipped with the knowledge of rules and regulations. It does not augur’s well for the growth and development of an organization.

A workshop on “Public Dealing Etiqu ette” at One Window Operation

T he staff at one window operation has to deal with many people having different mindsets in a day. The behaviour of the staff with the public determines the image of an organization that makes the public opinion. A well developed public relation system is a key to the success of an organization.

To fulfil this need, “One day training workshop” of the staff of one window operation and R&D branch was arranged with the title of “Public Dealing Etiquette”. The sole purpose of this training was to equip the Board employees with the tool of polite behavior to deal with the public in an improved manner. 14

A New MOU was signed with Pakistan Post, it will save millions of rupees

On the direcons of the Chairman BISE, Gujranwala Dr. Tariq Mehmood Qazi, the Board has signed a new Memorandom of Understand (MOU) with Pakistan Post. Ac- cording to the new MOU, the price of reg- istry is reduced from 45 rupee to 30 rupee each. It is note worthy that this memoran- dum of Understanding will save a huge money of BISE Gujranwala. This memo- randum is the brain child of Chairman BISE, Gujranwala who is keen to save the financial resources of this Board. The of- ficers of the Pakistan Post also facilitated this process.
