It’s almost summertime at the Café de la Paix, and we are delighted to present our heavenly ice cream selection, carefully crafted by our new pastry chef, Sophie de Bernardi. At just 27, Sophie has already worked with some of the world’s finest chefs and will be sharing her sweet expertise, by bringing a light, woman’s touch to our desert menu. On the go? No problem! The Café de la Paix’s latest charming addition: an artisanal ice cream cart on the restaurant’s terrace which means you can enjoy a sorbet (white peach, lemon, strawberry, mango and passion fruit) or an ice cream (coffee, vanilla, Caribbean chocolate, pistachio and salted caramel) overlooking the Opéra Garnier, or to take away too! Prices : 1 scoop – 3.00€ / 2 scoops – 5.00€ Make the most of the sunshine on our terrace where Sophie de Bernardi and Chef Laurent André have created a brand new ‘Ice’ menu with 3 classic and 3 brand new original recipes. THE CLASSICS (12€) Liégeois Café Coffee and espresso ice cream, coffee praline, chocolate and coffee icing, coffee and chocolate beans Melba Peach White peach and red currant sorbet, poached peach, flaked almonds and Chantilly cream Dame Blanche Vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings and Chantilly cream THE CREATIONS (12€) Parisian Opéra Creamy milk ice cream, salted butter, ‘Petit Lu’ biscuit, Chantilly cream After Eight Verbena and mint-chocolate sorbet, ‘After Eight’ chocolates, brownie fragments Sunshine Bowl Violet ice cream, strawberries and raspberries, pink Reims biscuit, red berry coulis, Chantilly cream To get the very best homemade ice cream flavours, Sophie de Bernardi and Laurent André have teamed up with Philippe Faur, a master artisan ice cream maker whose laboratory in the south west produces the very finest of ice creams thanks to secret family recipes and a unique know-how passed down through generations since 1969.
