This resulted in eleven consecutive posters, which when mounted side by side, create a %foot mural. The timeline exhibits and describes the millstones of physics in images and words. The timeline functions as a chronology, a work of art, a permanent open textbook, and a gigantic photo album covering a hundred years in the life of the community of physicists and the existence of the American Physical Society . Each of the eleven posters begins with a brief essay that places a major scientific achievement of the decade in its historical context. Large portraits of the essays’ subjects include youthful photographs of Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, and Richard Feynman among others, to help put a face on science. Below the essays, a total of over 130 individual discoveries and inventions, explained in dated text boxes with accompanying images, form the backbone of the timeline. For ease of comprehension, this wealth of material is organized into five color- coded story lines the stretch horizontally across the hundred years of the 20th century.     2010 High School Graduates Enrolling in Colorado Public Higher Education in Fall Term 2010 Summary Following C.R.S. 23-5-127 and beginning in Fall term 2010, the SASID (State Assigned Student Identifier ) began being collected in higher education enrollment data. From this point forward, a direct link exists between student history in K-12 and enrollment in public higher education in Colorado. This report summarizes a high school graduating class and their enrollment in higher education. Of the 2010 high school graduates, 46.3% enrolled in a public or reporting private institution in the state. The majority of these students (64.7%) enrolled in a four year public institution. The majority of the students enrolling in higher education were also female (53.0%) and White, non-Hispanic (64.0%). Source of Data Colorado Department of Education (CDE) High School Graduates, Spring 2010 and Department of Higher Education (DHE) Fall Term Enrollment, 2010 (SURDS) Data Limitations High school graduate file does not include late graduates, those graduating after May 2010 Higher education enrollment data collection is limited to public institutions and only a few private institutions. Enrollment in colleges out-of-state or the majority of in-state private, vocational or occupational colleges is not included in this report. Student identifiers submitted to higher education data system are matched by the colleges and universities using a matching process on several student characteristics. This matching process yields, on average, a 90 percent match. The remaining percentage would be included in enrollment data, but would not able to be matched to the high school graduate file.

    Fort Collins Local History Archive Finding Aid Title of Collection: Lincoln Center Collection Box ID: LC-1 through 9 OVERVIEW OF THE COLLECTION Creator: Lincoln Center Title: Lincoln Center Collection Date Range: 1976-2009 Brief description of collection: This collection was donated to the Local History Archive in 2010 by the Lincoln Center as they prepared for renovations to their facility. Quantity: 9.5 linear feet (8 record cartons, 1 16'' x 20'' scrapbook box) HISTORICAL INFORMATION The Lincoln Community Center opened on October 14, 1978 at 417 West Magnolia as Fort Collins’ arts and culture center. The name was later shortened to The Lincoln Center. It stands where the old Lincoln Junior High School once stood. The center features two performing art spaces (a 1,180-seat performance hall and a 220-seat theatre), three galleries, two conference/special events rooms, and an outdoor sculpture/terrace/performance garden. The Lincoln Center hosts a variety of events including traveling theater, music, and dance companies; local theater, music, and dance companies; school performances; community club events and performances; art exhibits; film series; and various other events. The Lincoln Center offers events and performances for all ages, including a children’s series. The Lincoln Center’s event rooms are rented for events by members of the community. The Lincoln Center is the primary source for viewing arts and culture for the Fort Collins community. It is part of the City of Fort Collins Culture, Parks, Recreation, & Environment Department. This publication is designed as a support for students and families to guide student experiences in high school and prepare them to achieve their dreams after graduation. This guide contains three main sections: Transitioning to High School, Graduation and Beyond, and Career Exploration and Experiences. Each section provides an overview of what students can expect in high school in those areas including staff support, opportunities for students to try new experiences and planning their future. This booklet also contains two planning charts that graphically show what students need to graduate, what opportunities are available for college credit during high school and possible career experiences. The back of the guide features a roadmap of next steps for parents and students to explore to make the most of their high school careers. In the back folder are individual sheets from all eight of PSD’s high schools so parents and students can see what offerings are available at each high school.
