In addition to the grade specific exhibits, each group decided on another exhibit of their choice. Other exhibits of choice included: Prehistoric Journey, Gems and Minerals, Mummies, South America, and North American Wildlife. For many students and several staff this was their first time to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and it was exciting to share this experience with them. Students and staff enjoyed the day, and we look forward to our next field trip. FEBRUARY 2017 Cache La Poudre Middle School Newsletter PAGE 4 IB-MYP Learner Profile February 2017 The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. The IB learner profile is the IB mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century. The ten IB Learner Profiles are Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Thinker, Communicator, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-taker, Balanced, and Reflective. Each month, teachers working in their grade-level teams nominate two students from each grade who demonstrate the qualities of the monthly Learner Profile focus. For January 2017, the Learner Profile was Communicator. Communicators are able to understand and express themselves confidently in more than one language. They work well and enthusiastically in team situations. The students will receive a certificate acknowledging their nomination and their picture will be added to the Learner Profile Bulletin Board near the Counseling Office. For the month of January 2017, the staff recognized the following students for the Learner Profile: Communicator – Callia Domanik, Taylor Fisher, Wyatt Grimmer, Kylie Jantz, Reece MacKinney, Caden Streeter. 6th Grade 7th Grade 8th Grade Congratulations to these students! We’re excited about our girls basketball and wrestling teams this season. We’ll continue concessions as long as we have a parent volunteer. Please use the link to sign up. http://signup.com/go/5gQc8P The money earned helps provide athletic equipment and additional team items, such as warmups, for our athletes. Having concessions also improves the atmosphere at home contests. Thank you for your support! It’s crazy to think that we are already preparing for Spring sports. Please make sure that your child has a current physical and participates in pre-season. As always… call, email or stop by if you have any questions!
