Takapuna AFC 11/17 Takapuna AFC Welcomes Papatoetoe AFC Lotto NRFL Div 2 15 July 2017 Club History Sponsors Welcome/President’s Report On behalf of the Takapuna Committee welcome to Taharoto Park for round seventeen of the NRFL division two season. I would like to extend a warm welcome to the management team, players and supporters from Papatoetoe AFC. A small reminder to our home teams today—clean your changing room out after your game and look after your opposition, showing them the best of what Takapuna has to offer on and off the pitch. Finally a reminder that the club has a policy of no drinking in the changing rooms. If we are caught this could affect our bar license. Good luck over the weekend to all Takapuna teams. Please enjoy today’s game and I sincerely hope that you will experience the hospitality on offer during the day and then join with members from both clubs in the clubhouse after the game for the post match player awards and socially relax in the excellent facilities we have to offer. Wayne Hallford President 1st Team Report View from the Dugout Good afternoon and it’s great to be back on the best pitch in Auckland - Taharoto Park. Firstly I would like to welcome Papatoetoe’s players, staff, and coaching team and I hope you will enjoy our wonderful facility’s here. Last week’s 4-0 win at home was just what the doctor ordered after our defect on the Island the week before. We wanted to show to ourselves and our members that we can bounce back and do it with style, and if it wasn’t for the fantastic display by the away keeper it could have been many more. Of course what we all have to remember is, the team that ran out for Te Atatu last week on Taharoto Park bore no resemblance to the one that we scraped a win away from home earlier in the year. It’s a big shame that some players feel the need to move clubs when things aren’t going well forgetting that it’s their hard work and loyalty that is required to get them out of the hole dug by themselves. Moan over! We find ourselves still chasing the top two and one thing for sure is we will keep putting pressure on them just waiting on their shoulders for any opportunity should it arise, as we as a team and club will never walk away from a task undone. At training we have been working on the problems we encountered in our last game but more around how we can use the fantastic surface we enjoy at home. I expect a very spirited performance from our visitors Papatoetoe AFC today so we will have to match it if we want to get anything from this game. Welcome back to Tommy Miller who missed last week’s fixture through suspension and I’m looking forward to having his drive back in the team. Again thank you all for your support and it’s great to hear the comments from the balcony ant half time it puts a smile on my face. Enjoy the game. UP THE TAKA BOYS! Joe Daw Reserve Team Report Te Atatu – Home After a couple of away games it was great to be back at home this week against, Te Atatu, looking to continue our winning run of games. Early in the season away at Te Atatu was one of our most disappointing games as we initially dominated the game then somehow crumbled in the second half and ended up losing. We started the game well and moved the ball around nicely creating some half chances early on and took control of the game. Unfortunately against the run of play due to a misjudged bounce, the Te Atatu striker managed to slot one past our keeper. We accepted that this was just a bit of bad luck and continued playing our patient football and managed to dominate most of the first half and unlike the beginning of the season found ourselves able to convert chances into goals and with 20 minutes left of the half we were up 3-1. The game became a bit heated at this point with a number of altercations and with five minutes to go in the half, the referee awarded Te Atatu with a controversial penalty decision and their player slotted it calmly into the top corner finishing the half 3-2 to Takapuna. I think it’s fair to say Te Atatu were very lucky to come in at half time with two goals after causing us so few problems at the back and the score line was very flattering to them. There is always a danger in these games that the dominating team becomes frustrated ends up making silly mistakes but full credit to the lads we came out the second half and played the same solid football. We were awarded a penalty which was scored and then managed to put the final nail in the coffin with a very well taken free kick finishing the score at 5-2 to Takapuna. It’s great that we have managed to continue our unbeaten run and although I don’t feel we played as well as we did last week we did more than enough to get a result, something that we really struggled with early on in the season. I would like to extend a warm welcome to James Colligan, his management team, players and supporters from Te Atatu. The last time the two clubs met was back in 2009/2010 season playing in the United Soccer One Premier league under the leader ship of head coach Clive Campbell. The 2016 NFF preseason tournament saw the two teams meet in what can only be described as a trail game as the purpose of the tournament is to give every player the opportunity to impress the first team coach to be selected in his/her starting eleven. Taking the field for both teams will be a lot of new players from when the two teams faced off a couple of months ago, so both teams go into today’s game with a lot of unknowns. In memory of Ray Hill As most will know Ray Hill had been fighting cancer for the good part of two years and sadly he couldn’t fight anymore and passed away on Tuesday 26th April surrounded by family and friends. Our thoughts are with Ray’s family at this very difficult time, we will always remember Ray as a family member of Takapuna AFC Football Club. Rays history and achievements while he was head coach at Takapuna AFC: 1979: Head coach, Northern League First Division 1980:Head coach, Northern League First Division – league winners – promoted to Rothmans National League 1981: Head coach, Rothmans National League 1982: Head coach, Northern Premier League 1980: Ray was awarded the Auckland Soccer Coach of the Year Ray was also a true Liverpool supporter so as we now he will never walk alone Good luck over the weekend to all Takapuna teams, hopefully your 2016 campaigns will have you league winners in 16 weeks time.

2/18 Takapuna AFC Welcomes Ngongotaha AFC Lotto NRFL Div 2 7 April 2018 Club History Sponsors Welcome/President’s Report Welcome to our second home game of the 2018 league season – and what a blockbuster fixture we have. We extend a very warm welcome to Ngongotaha FC, their fans, players and officials and look forward to a great atmosphere and an exciting game. It has been an eventful off season for the club but I am delighted that we have started the season in very good shape which should augur well for another season of progress. I believe we have an ideal combination of a strong team-based culture, together with an infusion of new ideas and broader experiences which will serve us well over the course of the season. So, we turn to the new season. The good news is that we have had a largely positive transfer window and have secured most of Joe Daw prime targets, and go into the season with the strongest squad in the past three years. This reflects great credit on Joe with his professionalism and the speed with which he has built a new team. We have continued to invest in the playing squad and go into the season with the strongest squad in my tenure, both in terms of depth and in terms of quality. We have built on our core policy of investing in and trusting youth by bringing in experience at higher levels in key positions. The additions of Matt Chant, Nick Smith, Jono Lewis, Tommy Miller and Jack Taylor all experienced Premier players, together with the arrival late last week of Mitch Miller, will mean there is healthy competition in virtually every position.

To tie in with this historic milestone, the Lotto NRFL will have a new look and feel with the introduction of a logo and further branding, including social media and this weekly programme, for one of the country’s leading club-based competitions. The elements used within the logo refer to various features of the different regions. The wavy lines represent the wide expanses of water that surround Northland, Auckland and the Waikato, including the Waikato River, while the mountains evoke the Waitakere Ranges, Bombay Hills and Kamai Ranges, as well as the numerous volcanoes that are scattered throughout the area. The champions-in-waiting need just a point from the visit of relegated Fencibles United while Forrest Hill must make sure they beat Papatoetoe and pray for a miracle down in Hamilton. In the men’s action, a quirk of the draw has pitted the top two sides against each other in both the Premier League and Division One, creating what amounts to a pair of title deciders. Eastern Suburbs will claim the top-flight gong if they beat Hamilton Wanderers while Forrest Hill can do the same in their northern derby against North Shore United in the first division. Division Two title favourites Papakura City could also wrap things up in Sunday’s trip to AFC Fury but that would depend on Oratia United suffering an upset loss at home to Papatoetoe on Saturday.

These matches are usually hard fought and entertaining regardless of where the teams currently stand on the results ladder. I expect today will be no different. At Manurewa this year we have embarked on a new coaching strategy for the 1st and reserves teams and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Hoani, Nathan, Mark & Steve for giving it a real attempt. We also have two relatively youthful sides this year that I would encourage to gel as a team, learn together and get stronger and better as individuals and as team players. We also welcome a couple of players from overseas, penalty saver Mataias and what red card Pablo. I hope you guys have settled in and are enjoying your time playing for Manurewa. Also welcome back Stephen Carmichael to the club, [I coached him when he was a youngster, oh he still is a youngster] he has scored more goals in three games than one of his coaches did in a year, [let you guess who that is]. To our supporters, once again thank you for the great turn out in numbers, whether home or away, it’s what gets this club mentioned in one way or another and I'm sure it does lift our teams.

  • Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two
BACKGROUND INFORMATION Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two Provided to the Minister’s office on 9 October 2020 Purpose 1. The purpose of this briefing is to provide you with the final amounts awarded through the Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two (CRF 2). This background document will be proactively released on Sport NZ’s website on Wednesday 14 October 2020 Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two Overview 2. CRF was initially a $10M fund, distributed by Regional Sports Trusts (RSTs) to regional and local organisations. Due to the demand for the fund in the initial three weeks, further funding was approved and the total fund was increased to $15M. 3. RSTs have approved 2,070 applications and have allocated just over $14.954 million for regional and local organisations to cover fixed and operational costs for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 September 2020. 4. Applications for the fund closed on Friday 4 September 2020. However, Aktive received a two week extension to close on Friday 18 September 2020 as a result of Auckland being placed into Alert Level 3. We anticipated that this would result in worsening financial situations for organisations in the regions due to further reductions in revenue, and an increase in the number of organisations that were eligible to apply for support. Outlined in the tables below are details of the recipients and amounts awarded through the CRF 2. Note: Funds paid to applicants were inclusive of Government Services Tax where applicable.
