Pulling a Swift PPULLINGULLING A SSWIFTWIFT OONENE OOfffi ccialial MatamataMatamata AFCAFC matchmatch dayday programmeprogramme Matamata Swifts v Papatoetoe AFC NRFL Division 1A Saturday July 24, 2010 Matamata Domain, Matamata Kick-off 2.45pm A Few Kind Words Welcome back to the Domain for today’s fi xture against Papatoetoe. We’re starting to get used to the idea of playing new clubs just about every week and today is no exception. We know bugger all about today’s visitors and 2010 I’m sure they know pretty much the same about us. I guess that means that this match will unfold totally on its Management own merits and not be infl uenced by any pre-conceived Committee ideas. That will, at least, be good for the fans. It would be fair to say that our primary goal for the Patron season has been achieved - that being to make the top Jack Poole six of NRFL Division 1. That is quite an achievement for a club that hasn’t been in any Northern League competition President since 1998. As it stands, however, we can’t drift into the Dwayne Barlow end of the season thinking our job is done. The cut-throat Vice-Presidents nature of the new NRFL Division 1A that we now fi nd Peter Challis ourselves in means our next six games are all cup fi nals Malcolm Raynel (sorry, tired football cliche there). Our aim now has to be to make the top six of this division, which will mean Treasurer avoiding the relegation play-offs. I’m guessing everyone Dave Mann else will have that on their minds too, so it won’t be easy. Secretary Division 1A brings with it a trip to Whangarei. There Mike Collins wouldn’t be too many people in Matamata aware of the travel involved with being in the NRFL, let alone the Club Captain prospect of the journey we have in front of us in the Chris Bedford fi rst weekend of August. So please spread the word. Let Junior your mates know that the level of football we’re playing Co-ordinator at is far superior to, and brings with it a greater level of Kim Hancock commitment, than the local competitions in which the other big Matamata sports clubs compete. Committee One fi nal thing. We’ll be holding our Annual Quiz Night Julie Clothier at the club next Saturday, after the Manurewa game. The Nigel Hatfi eld fi rst question will be asked at about 6pm. I’ll see you all there. Groundsman Jack Poole Dwayne Barlow PICTURED Front Cover Jon Allen on the ball against Mt Albert-Ponsonby last Saturday. While most normal people are pigging out on Easter eggs and hot cross buns the football fraternity will be slogging it 2011 out on fi elds up and down the country. I’m sure there’s a good reason why we do it... Management Our start to the season has been solid enough. A close Committee loss at Manurewa was followed by a home victory over Onehunga Mangere that was a little more exciting than it Patron needed to be. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Takapuna was Jack Poole a real battle. It took us until mid-June to get our fi rst point in Auckland last season, so it was great to get that little President monkey off the back nice and early this time around. Dwayne Barlow This weekend we play host to two of the favourites Vice-President for the 2011 NRFL division 1 title. This will be a proper Peter Challis examination of where we stand and a good indicator of our prospects for the season. Treasurer Birkenhead United visit us on Saturday and come with Dave Mann the reputation of being a young and exciting footballing Secretary team.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mark Holt his management team, players and supporters from Papatoetoe AFC. The season is now at a critical stage that the lads need to win the final four games to achieve what they set out to do at the beginning of the season. Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 Welcome to Western Springs who sit in second spot for Northern League Division one. Last Sundays result wasn’t what we wanted but I have to say that the signs are there and with some accurate shooting and passing the result could have been a lot different. To both sides keep the effort up and I look forward to the start of the second round. I am positive we will start to see the results we as members, coaches and players want. A reminder that it is the second round of the Chatham Cup against Hibiscus Coast away on Monday 2nd June at 2pm. So folks think about the trip up again and hopefully a change in results. Sorry to see the Division Six side disbanded but to those who gave it a go well done. Hopefully something to work on for next year. I’m looking forward to seeing a game at home this week after being away for awhile. Sometimes work gets in the road of sport. Good luck to all sides, enjoy your sport. A champion will definitely be found in the final round of the Women’s Premier on Sunday with Claudelands Rovers appearing likely to wrestle the crown off Forrest Hill-Milford United. The champions-in-waiting need just a point from the visit of relegated Fencibles United while Forrest Hill must make sure they beat Papatoetoe and pray for a miracle down in Hamilton. In the men’s action, a quirk of the draw has pitted the top two sides against each other in both the Premier League and Division One, creating what amounts to a pair of title deciders. Eastern Suburbs will claim the top-flight gong if they beat Hamilton Wanderers while Forrest Hill can do the same in their northern derby against North Shore United in the first division. Division Two title favourites Papakura City could also wrap things up in Sunday’s trip to AFC Fury but that would depend on Oratia United suffering an upset loss at home to Papatoetoe on Saturday.

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 www.manurewaafc.org.nz Hello again everyone and welcome to our first derby match for a couple of seasons. These matches are usually hard fought and entertaining regardless of where the teams currently stand on the results ladder. I expect today will be no different. At Manurewa this year we have embarked on a new coaching strategy for the 1st and reserves teams and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Hoani, Nathan, Mark & Steve for giving it a real attempt. We also have two relatively youthful sides this year that I would encourage to gel as a team, learn together and get stronger and better as individuals and as team players. We also welcome a couple of players from overseas, penalty saver Mataias and what red card Pablo. I hope you guys have settled in and are enjoying your time playing for Manurewa. Also welcome back Stephen Carmichael to the club, [I coached him when he was a youngster, oh he still is a youngster] he has scored more goals in three games than one of his coaches did in a year, [let you guess who that is]. To our supporters, once again thank you for the great turn out in numbers, whether home or away, it’s what gets this club mentioned in one way or another and I'm sure it does lift our teams.

  • Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two
BACKGROUND INFORMATION Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two Provided to the Minister’s office on 9 October 2020 Purpose 1. The purpose of this briefing is to provide you with the final amounts awarded through the Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two (CRF 2). This background document will be proactively released on Sport NZ’s website on Wednesday 14 October 2020 Community Resilience Fund – Phase Two Overview 2. CRF was initially a $10M fund, distributed by Regional Sports Trusts (RSTs) to regional and local organisations. Due to the demand for the fund in the initial three weeks, further funding was approved and the total fund was increased to $15M. 3. RSTs have approved 2,070 applications and have allocated just over $14.954 million for regional and local organisations to cover fixed and operational costs for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 September 2020. 4. Applications for the fund closed on Friday 4 September 2020. However, Aktive received a two week extension to close on Friday 18 September 2020 as a result of Auckland being placed into Alert Level 3. We anticipated that this would result in worsening financial situations for organisations in the regions due to further reductions in revenue, and an increase in the number of organisations that were eligible to apply for support. Outlined in the tables below are details of the recipients and amounts awarded through the CRF 2. Note: Funds paid to applicants were inclusive of Government Services Tax where applicable. I would like to extend a warm welcome to the management team, players and supporters from Papatoetoe AFC. A small reminder to our home teams today—clean your changing room out after your game and look after your opposition, showing them the best of what Takapuna has to offer on and off the pitch. Finally a reminder that the club has a policy of no drinking in the changing rooms. If we are caught this could affect our bar license. Good luck over the weekend to all Takapuna teams. Please enjoy today’s game and I sincerely hope that you will experience the hospitality on offer during the day and then join with members from both clubs in the clubhouse after the game for the post match player awards and socially relax in the excellent facilities we have to offer. Wayne Hallford President 1st Team Report View from the Dugout Good afternoon and it’s great to be back on the best pitch in Auckland - Taharoto Park. Firstly I would like to welcome Papatoetoe’s players, staff, and coaching team and I hope you will enjoy our wonderful facility’s here. Last week’s 4-0 win at home was just what the doctor ordered after our defect on the Island the week before. We wanted to show to ourselves and our members that we can bounce back and do it with style, and if it wasn’t for the fantastic display by the away keeper it could have been many more.

This weekend is also the 'Battle of the Toey' as our Over 40 Div 4 teams come head to head on the pitch. It's sure to be end to end stuff as each team tries their upmost to secure bragging rights for the coming weeks and of course the three points. That leads me to another battle faced by one of our members. I'm sure many of you are aware of the devastating attack Paul Margee fell victim to last month. Our heartfelt thoughts are with Paul and his family.
