Beach, PhD, Advisor David Brakke, PhD Kristina Sessa, PhD Copyright by Shannon Marie Turner Li 2017 Abstract Through an examination of Irimbert of Admont’s (c. 1096-1176) scriptural commentaries, I argue that Irimbert makes use of traditional themes of scriptural interpretation while also engaging with contemporary developments in theology and spirituality. Irimbert of Admont and his writings have been understudied and generally mischaracterized in modern scholarship, yet a case study into his writings has much to offer in our understanding of theology and spirituality at the monastery of Admont and the wider context of the monastic Hirsau reform movement. The literary genre of exegesis itself offers a unique perspective into contemporary society and culture, and Irimbert’s writings, which were written within a short span, make for an ideal case study. Irimbert’s corpus of scriptural commentaries demonstrates strong themes of salvation history and the positive advancement of the Church, and he explores such themes in the unusual context of the historical books of the Old Testament, which were rarely studied by medieval exegetes. Irimbert thus utilizes biblical history to craft an interpretive scheme of salvation history that delicately combines traditional and contemporary exegetical, theological, and spiritual elements. The twelfth-century library at Admont housed an impressive collection of traditional patristic writings alongside the most recent scholastic texts coming out of Paris.

Partridge pea is a valuable food plant for bobwhites and provides habitat to a wide variety of insects. Tvorí ho televízna stanica Cartoon Networks, ktorá je dostupná aj slovenským divákom. Ide o televízny kanál pre detského di- váka, ktorý vznikol 1. októbra 1992. Svoje cieľové publikum kategorizuje ako deti a mládež v rozmedzí 7 – 16 rokov. Cartoon Networks produkuje vlastné zábavné a dobrodružné obsahy, medzi ktoré patrí aj Adventure Time. V príspevku ponechávame originálne, anglické názvy postáv či miest, nakoľko by prekladom mohlo dôjsť k strate významu. Neprekladáme ani názov seriálu, aj keď rovna- ko jeho slovenský ekvivalent bezpochyby podčiarkuje to, čo má divák očakávať – čas na dobrodruž- stvo. V príspevku budeme využívať skratku názvu AT s cieľom sublimovať text. 1.1 Charakteristika seriálu (teoreticky a prakticky) Prvá skúšobná pilotná časť vyšla v roku 2007 a s pravidelnou periodicitou bol seriál spustený a zaradený do programovej štruktúry od roku 2010. Tvorcom seriálu je americký animátor, scenárista a producent Pendleton Ward, ktorý sa inšpiroval fantazijnou hrou Dungeons and Dragons (u nás známejšia pod českým ekvivalentom Dračí doupĕ, a to vďaka seriálu The Big Bang Theory), ktorá je charakteristická kúzlami, tvorením deja počas hrania a role-playingom. Doposiaľ bolo vyprodukovaných 7 sérií, z ktorých má väčšina 27 dielov, no existuje aj séria s 52 epizódami. Seriál pozostáva z viacerých častí, ktoré spolu tvoria kompaktný celok, charakteristický štyrmi jednotami dramatického seriálu: jednota hrdinov, prostredia, deja a jednota umeleckej konven- cie.

BELLVILLE [TX] COUNTRYMAN, July 28, 1860, p. 2, c. 1 Excitement in Northern Texas.—By an extra from the office of the Brenham Enquirer dated the 23d inst., we learn that [tear in paper] excitement in Northern Texas [tear in paper] an insurrection movement among the negroes, led on by white men. Enough has been discovered to show that a deep laid plot was on the eve of being consummated to free the negroes and destroy the whites. The insurrection was to take place on the election day in August. The burning of the town of Dallas on the 8th inst., and of Denton, Pilot Point, Belknap, Gainesville, Black Jack Grove, etc., has been traced to the agency of these emissaries.
