The ordination took place in the chapel of St. Basil Seminary in Stamford, CT. After completing high school at the Basilian Monastery in Chervonohrad, Western Ukraine, the newly ordained Father Andriy, attended St. Basil Seminary, Stamford, CT and then St. Josaphat Seminary in Washington, DC. For a time he returned to Ukraine. Father Andriy came back to the United States and was ordained to the Diaconate in Stamford, by Bishop Paul. On May 9, he completed his journey to the priest- hood. Dear Brothers and Sisters, Good morning! THE KINDNESS DIARIES Today’s Gospel — John Chapter 15 — brings us back to the Leon Logothetis was walking down Hollywood Last Supper, when we hear Jesus’ new commandment. Turula suddenly passed away at the age of sixty-four on April 15, 2015 in Irondequoit, New York. He was a faithful member of Saint Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rochester. Bishop Paul Chomnycky, OSBM, cele- brated his Funeral Liturgy on Monday, April 20, with burial taking place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Stephen was an officer of the Turula Family Fund, Inc., a private grantmaking foundation based in Rochester. Through his efforts, the fund was a source of philanthropic assistance to a number of charities, including institutions in the Stamford Eparchy. Stephen has served as a Director and benefactor of The Ukrainian Museum & Library in Stamford since his nomination by Bishop Basil Losten in 2002. Sister Paula Jacynyk, OSBM Falls Asleep in the Lord Sister Paula (Theresa) Jacynyk, OSBM, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, at Holy Redeemer Hospital, Meadowbrook, PA. Sister had undergone a pacemaker implant and was scheduled for rehab when death occurred. Sister Paula was baptized and chrismated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Passaic, NJ, and after the death of her parents, Anthony and Antoinette (Dobrowolska) Jacynyk, was raised by her aunt and uncle Anna and Peter Rybensky. Her high school years were spent at St. Basil Academy and soon after graduating in 1948, being deeply impressed and inspired by the Sisters and teachers, she entered the Order of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great. After minor profession of vows in 1950, Sister Paula was missioned to teach at St. Nicholas School, Watervliet, NY, followed by teaching assignments at St. Nicholas School, Chicago, IL, SS. Peter & Paul, Auburn, NY, SS. Peter & Paul, Cohoes, NY, and St. Josaphat’s in Philadelphia, PA. In 1968, Sister Paula was called to the Motherhouse in Fox Chase where over the years she held leadership positions as novice directress, house superior, Provincial Vicar, councilor and secretary, regis- trar at Manor College, Provincial Renewal Team member, and mentor to young women from Ukraine who came to discern their vocation. Нововисвячений отець Андрій навчався в Духовному ліцеї при Василіанському монастирі ЧСВВ в м. Червонограді, Львівської області. Пізніше вступив на навчання до семіна- рії св. Василія Великого – Стемфорд, КТ., та продовжив його в семінарії св. Йосафата – Вашінгтон. За словами отця Андрія, саме цей період допоміг іти шляхом його покли- кання. А далі про свій шлях життєвих пошуків о. Андрій роздумує так: “Усім нам ще від народження Бог приготував покликан- ня, тобто роль у житті, яку ми маємо відшукати. Інколи ми не чуємо цього поклику, бо він приглушений чимось іншим, можливо нашими бажаннями, переживаннями, радостями чи зацікавленнями. Всі ці заохочення зводять нас з основ- ного шляху життя, яким ми повинні іти. А пошук покли- кання роблять важким і довгим.

Стоячи на роздоріжжі можна вибрати і хибну дорогу, яка поведе до зацікавлень, але не досягне мети, тобто покли- кання, яке нам приготував Бог. Втративши зацікавлення ми знову починаємо шукати і так аж до того часу, поки не від- найдемо цього єдиного шляху, який буде насправді нашим. Хоча шлях покликання вибраний для нас, але це не є запо- рукою, що він буде легким і без перешкод. Можемо не зро- зуміти, що це те, що насправді є нашим. Навпаки більше перешкод і сторонніx бажань будуть відвертати нашу увагу. Вибираючи шлях покликання потрібно звертати увагу на наші таланти, можливості і те, що приносить нам задово- лення і спокій. Головне - віднайшовши своє покликання потрібно берегти його, примножувати протягом життя’’.

У неділю, 10-го травня 2015 року у приміщенні церков- ного залу парафії Святого Михаїла у Йонкерсі, НЙ від- бувся благодійний концерт музики і танцю до Дня Матері. У концерті взяли участь учні Йонкерського від- ділу Українського Музичного Інституту Америки під керівництвом Лілії Кушнір та Школи Бального Танцю "Adore Dance" під керівництвом Олександри Кузь. Ведучими програми були Юрій Яновський та Ірина Гаталевич. Концертна програма складалася з танців, пісень та музики у виконанні вихованців Музичного Інтституту та Школи Бального Танцю. Усі присутні, окрім чудового концерту, мали змогу насолодитися різ- номанітними перекусками. Кошти, які були зібрані під час концерту, будуть перечислені на допомогу матерям загиблих воїнів в АТО. Щиросердечна подяка отцю пароху Кирилу Ангелову за підтримку і благословення, викладачам Лілії Кушнір та Олександрі Кузь за приго- тування і організацію концерту, Лесі Муращук за приві- тальне відркриття мистецької програми, Ірині Гаталевич і Юрію Яновському за проведення концерту, усім виконавцям за їхній труд і посвяту, всім батькам за смачну перекуску та допомогу в проведенні концерту, а усім гостям за присутність і підтримку!

On Saturday, April 18th, Sr. Kathleen, SSMI and Sr. Tekla, SSMI, traveled upstate to visit the parishioners of Holy Protection and St. Nicholas in Buffalo, NY. Fr. The faithful reverently came to venerate the icon, prayerfully presenting their petitions to God through the interces- sion of Blessed Josaphata.
