The Museum is named ’Mitzvah’ honoring the rescue of most of the Danish Jews during WW2. The tour ends after the visit to the Danish-Jewish Museum.

RESCUE ROUTE 1 3-hour Jewish tour including a driver and guide

Rescue Route 1, begins with a visit to the Danish-Jewish Museum located in the garden of the Royal Library.

Visit to the Danish-Jewish Museum ”Mitzvah” The top architect Daniel Libeskind’s charac- teristic architecture will - in an almost laby- rinthine manner - lead you into the universe of the Danish Jewish culture. Inside the museum the Jewish guide will tell you the amazing story of Danish Jewry from when the first Jews were invited by the king Christian 4th in 1622, to the present time.

After the visit to Danish-Jewish Museum we are picked up by a driver in a limousine/van for a visit to Dragör fishing village.

Visit to the fishing village of Dragör Brave fishermen helped more than 95 % of the Jewish population in Denmark to safety in Sweden. Many Jews escaped from Dragor on small boats including the fishing boat Elisabeth K571.

Today Dragor Town is a charming village with old half-timbered houses, cosy cafes and restaurants. Only 8 miles from the cen- ter of Copenhagen, the visit to Dragor will not only evoke the past, but also give you an interesting and unique experience of the lives in small Danish villages.

In Dragör your guide will share her personal stories about the miraculous rescue of the 7,000 Danish Jews in October 1943.

The tour ends back in Copenhagen.

On our Rescue Route 2, your Jewish guide will take you for a 3-hour Jewish walking tour, followed by a 2-hour visit by car to Dragör fishing village. During the tour your guide will tell you the amazing story of Danish Jewry from when the first Jews were invited by the king Christian 4th in 1622, to the present time.

During the walking tour you will pass many Copenhagen landmarks such as:
