Fund Af Småsommerfugle Fra Danmark I 2008 (Lepidoptera)
Fund af småsommerfugle fra Danmark i 2008 (Lepidoptera) Otto Buhl, Per Falck, Ole Karsholt, Knud Larsen & Flemming Vilhelmsen Buh!, 0., P. Falck, O. Karsholt, K. Larsen & F. Vilhelmsen: Records of Micro lepidoptera from Denmark in 2008 (Lepidoptera). Ent. Meddr 77: 65-81. Copenhagen, Denmark 2009. ISSN 0013-8851. This artide reports and comments on interesting Danish Microlepidoptera collected in 2008, and inelude remarkable findings from previous years. The classification and nomenelature follow the Danish catalogue (Karsholt & Sta de! Nielsen, 1998) which is basedon the European checklist (Karsholt & Ra zowski (eds.), 1996) . Two species are reported as new to the Danish fauna: l) Caloptilia fidella (Reutti, 1853) (Gracillariidae). Several specimens were taken on theIsland of Bornholm in two different localities both as adults and larvae. 2) Scrabipalpula tussilaginis (Stainton, 1867) (Gelechiidae). The species has been found as lar va and adult at five different localities in Lolland, Zealand and Bornholm. The host plant is Tussilaga farfara. No specimens have been found in collections and tussilaginis is regarded as a recent immigrant. Phyllonarycter cerasicalella (Herrich-Schaffer, 1855) ( Gracillariidae) has re cently been raised to species level by Triberti (2007) and as a consequence of that i t is reintroduced to the list. A population of Caloptilia hemidactylella (D. & S.) has been found in South Jutland on Acer platanaides and on Acer campestre. Two tropical species ofPyralidae, Hypargyria metalliferella Ragonot, 1888 and Diplopseustis perieresalis (Walker, 1859), were taken in lighttrapsin Denmark. It is a question whether they are introduced species or migrants. A spedallist of species with uncertain status is introduced. The Palm Borer, Paysandisia arehan (Burmeister, 1880) is reported from one larva and one adult, both found o n palms ( Trachycarpus fortune) probably in troduced from Italy. -

Moths and Management of a Grassland Reserve: Regular Mowing and Temporary Abandonment Support Different Species
Biologia 67/5: 973—987, 2012 Section Zoology DOI: 10.2478/s11756-012-0095-9 Moths and management of a grassland reserve: regular mowing and temporary abandonment support different species Jan Šumpich1,2 &MartinKonvička1,3* 1Biological Centre CAS, Institute of Entomology, Branišovská 31,CZ-37005 České Budějovice, Czech Republic; e-mail: [email protected] 2Česká Bělá 212,CZ-58261 Česká Bělá, Czech Republic 3Faculty of Sciences, University South Bohemia, Branišovská 31,CZ-37005 České Budějovice, Czech Republic Abstract: Although reserves of temperate seminatural grassland require management interventions to prevent succesional change, each intervention affects the populations of sensitive organisms, including insects. Therefore, it appears as a wise bet-hedging strategy to manage reserves in diverse and patchy manners. Using portable light traps, we surveyed the effects of two contrasting management options, mowing and temporary abandonment, applied in a humid grassland reserve in a submountain area of the Czech Republic. Besides of Macrolepidoptera, we also surveyed Microlepidoptera, small moths rarely considered in community studies. Numbers of individiuals and species were similar in the two treatments, but ordionation analyses showed that catches originating from these two treatments differed in species composition, management alone explaining ca 30 per cent of variation both for all moths and if split to Marcolepidoptera and Microlepidoptera. Whereas a majority of macrolepidopteran humid grassland specialists preferred unmown sections or displayed no association with management, microlepidopteran humid grassland specialists contained equal representation of species inclining towards mown and unmown sections. We thus revealed that even mown section may host valuable species; an observation which would not have been detected had we considered Macrolepidoptera only. -

A checklist of the Microlepidoptera species recorded in Slovenia is presented. Each entry is accompanied by complete references, and remarks where appropriate. Until now, the data on Microlepidopteran fauna of Slovenia have not been compiled, with the existing information scattered in literature, museums and private collections throughout Europe. The present checklist is based on records extracted from 290 literature sources published from 1763 (Scopoli) to present. In total, 1645 species from 56 families are listed. Keywords: Microlepidoptera, checklist, Slovenia, fauna Izvleček.
