Lilly Library Reading Room Mural Project Announced .Neuro- and Health Sciences Librarian The Lilly Endowment Inc. has given Indiana University a grant to commission an IU Bloomington inspirational and iconic cycle of murals for the Lilly Library Reading Room. The grant and the public call for expressions of interest were just announced on January 23, 2020. The Professional Staff Director of the IU Eskenazi Museum of Art, David Brenneman, is chairing a committee to Cartographic Resource Cataloger seek and select the most creative and inspirational concept inspired by the collections of IU Bloomington the Lilly Library. The artist chosen will have the opportunity to create murals which celebrate the magnificent Lilly Library collections. Nan Brewer, the Lucienne M. Glaubinger Curator of Works on Paper at IU's Eskenazi
Museum of Art, will discuss the thrill of finding an old appraisal in the papers of art history professor Diether Thimme that revealed a little known teaching collection at IU going back to the 1890s. Further research revealed grand ambitions to create an early art program on par with those at Oxford and Harvard Universities.

Rivkah Library at the Indiana Institute on Disability & received her Master of Library Science from Indiana University in 2012, and previously Community served as the Head of Accounting with the Libraries’ Acquisitions Department. Rivkah (IUB) currently serves as Business Manager with the IU Division of Student Affairs. Please join me in welcoming Rivkah when she begins her new role in February. Madeline is currently an Archives Assistant for the MIA and is also a IUL Preservation Blog Copyright Researcher for the IU Libraries. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History from (E. Lingle Craig Preservation Lab, IUB) Agnes Scott College and a MLS from IU. Please join me in congratulating Madeline on her new position, which will begin on February 4.
