Come on, there are nearly one thousand of us in the Register surely there are many of you with woes, joys, funnies and tips to offer us all, so get those pens out and contribute. This also applies to the main Journal I now realise how difficult it is for our Editor to fill it. I know quite a few of us are perhaps bored with 21 pages of travelogue covering minutely all 2,697, but he has no option if there is nothing else to put in Right nag over. There are a few bikes for sale rattling around at the moment, an R60/5 an R100/7 and a rather unusual R50 cafe racer in red I will put you in touch if you are interested. I also have a K100 RS in red in my garage that I shall not be able to manage shortly which will be for sale also, please phone me for details. In Lincolnshire we have already had the dreaded gritter salters out on the roads but luckily followed by heavy rain so getting out has not yet been curtailed. This brings me to my R50S. It let me down rather badly 25 miles from home and the one day my mobile was in my other leathers. Good old Carol Nash and SOS. The problem has been identified as the electronic ignition and hopefully will have been sorted out by the time you read this, maybe the old mag system should have stayed with it! An option I am now considering, I have always preferred original and ‘if it ain’t broke why fix it?’ bit like the valve seat question. I have learned that Carol Nash will be transferring the breakdown recovery to the AA early in the new year this fills me with horror all I can hope is that they subcontract it out to SOS who are geared up for we two wheelers, unlike the AA who I understand will be endeavoring to recover bikes on flat bed trucks as they do not as yet have enough bike trailers. From the 19th of this month I shall not be available for about two weeks but shall be doing my best to get a News sheet to you with the January Journal that arrives just before Christmas.
