 The Logistics Cluster will obtain and share the approved ACTION POINTS: humanitarian cargo list (Nusaybin – Qamishly) with participants  The Logistics Cluster -WFP will provide assistance to UNRWA for the setup of two Mobile Storage Units (MSUs).

SITUATION UPDATE Syria

 Inaccessible areas at present include Deir Ezzour, Raqqa, Rural Aleppo, and some areas in Rural Damascus (Zabadani, Yarmouk, and Ghouta).

Jordan

 The /Syria official border crossing point, ‘Al-Naseeb’, remains operational. After completing customs clearance in Naseeb, trucks can proceed to onward destinations via Sweida city.

Lebanon

 The /Syria border crossings of ‘Al-Masnaa’, ‘Al-Arida’, and ‘Abboudiyeh’ are operational.

 The international highway leading to the Al-Arida border crossing point is currently open.

COMMON SERVICES UPDATE Transport

 The Logistics Cluster continues to provide free-to-user cargo transport for humanitarian relief items within Syria.

 The Logistics Cluster also continues to offer free overland transport (not inclusive of custom clearance) from Lebanon/Jordan to Syria.

 From 11 March until mid-April, the Logistics Cluster delivered over 4,729 m³ of humanitarian relief items to different governorates including Damascus, Rural Damascus, Idleb, Aleppo and Homs on behalf of FAO, IMC, IOM, Mercy Corps, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, UNRWA, and WFP.

 WHO and other participants updated the group on new rules whereby a security representative is required to supervise, check and seal every single truck. For medicines, a representative from the Ministry of Health (MOH) is required to supervise the loading process.

 The accessibility to Deir Ezzour was discussed with participants. WFP noted that on the previous attempt, after receiving the necessary approval and facilitation letters, the trucks were unable to cross the Sukhneh area.

 The cargo for IOM and WHO, which was transported from to Syria via the Nusaybin border and was stored by the Cluster in Qamishly, has not yet been cleared by customs.

Storage

 Over 6,269 m³ of inter-agency cargo has been stored at the Logistics Cluster’s common warehouse facilities (Safita, Rural Damascus, Qamishly) for the past month.

 To meet partners’ storage needs in Lattakia, the Logistics Cluster is exploring options for a potential common storage facility in Lattakia.

JOINT HUMANITARIAN CONVOYS Accomplished Convoys

 Over the past month, the Logistics Cluster supported a number of inter-agency Joint Humanitarian Convoys to Rural Damascus (Douma), Rural Homs (Ghanto and Teir Malla) and Rural Idleb (Saraqeb).

DAMASCUS TO QAMISHLY EMERGENCY AIRLIFTS  The Logistics Cluster updated the group on the completion of emergency airlifts of over 1,000 m³ of relief items on behalf of GOPA, IMC, IOM, UNICEF, WHO, and WFP from Damascus to Qamishly (inaccessible by road from Damascus).

ORGANIZATIONS’ UPDATES AND AOB  WFP is working on a strategy to deliver food to Deir Ezzour, via coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA) and the Governor of Deir Ezzour.

 UNHCR plans to continue using the Nusabyin border crossing to deliver aid from Turkey to Syria, access permitting.

 UNRWA plans to participate in the upcoming Joint Humanitarian Convoys to Aleppo.

 As per request from UNRWA, the Logistics Cluster will assist them in erecting two Mobile Storage Units (MSUs) in the Alliance area.
