After arriving in Zakopane, the tour starts with a ride up the funicular railway to the top of Mt. Gubalowka where you have a marvelous view of the Tatra range. After a stroll around the summit, we return down to visit the historical part of Zakopane with its old highlander cottages, surrounded by ash trees and blackened by the sun. These wooden houses and churches were built in the Zakopane style by the famous Polish artist, Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz. You will visit also the famous cemetery in Peksowy Brzyzek and the wooden chapel in Jaszczurowka.
To ensure that you savour the Zakopane atmosphere and its local color, we will take a stroll along Krupowki Boulevard, the central area full of local shops, restaurants, tea houses, cafes, and boutiques. Later you can either visit the Tatra Museum or the old wooden village of Chocholow – which looks like an open-air museum.
