Life after International Studies: Where do they go? What do they do?

International Studies alumni have followed their passions and interests to a wide range of locations. Many remain in Louisiana, some never leaving LSU, where they now work as administrators, librarians, or instructors. Primary education and healthcare are also popular careers for our alums who have stayed in Louisiana. Washington DC is a very popular destination for INTL alumni who often find work there in the public sector or in non profit agencies. Graduates can be found across the from Honolulu to Boston in various private sector jobs such as legal services, hotel management, translation services, shipping, etc.

It is not surprising that we have a number of former students who have found careers abroad. Some of our notable expats have worked for the UN in , for the US Foreign Service in Mexico, as a medical doctor in Cuba, as executive recruiters in Argentina, as military contractors in Kuwait. And several INTL alumni are teaching English abroad in Japan, France, China, Korea, and Taiwan.
