The Raveonettes, Mahogany, Jesus and Mary Chain, Nick Drake, Sonic Youth. Hasta el día de hoy, Pia Fraus sigue siendo el principal representante del mejor Dream Pop y Shoegaze Báltico. influencias : My Bloody Valentine, The Pastels, Ride, Pale Saints, Chapterhouse, Boo Radleys, Teenage Fanclub discografía : Wonder What It's Like (2001 Pia Fraus) / In Solarium (2002 Clairecords) In Solarium - Japanese release (2004 Vinyl Junkie) / Sailing On A Grapefruit Lake (2005 Vinyl Junkie) Nature Heart Software (2006 Seksound) / Nature Heart Software - Japanese release (2006 Vinyl Junkie) After Summer (2008 Seksound / Clairecords) / After Summer - Japanese release (2008 Vinyl Junkie) After Summer - Philippines release (2009 Universal Records) / Silmi Island - Compilation 1998-2008 (2013 Seksound / Shelflife) / Field Ceremony (2017 Seksound / Shelflife) links : https://piafraus.bandcamp.com/album/field-ceremony https://piafraus.bandcamp.com/album/thats-not-all https://piafraus.bandcamp.com/album/cloudy-eyes-outer-otherness https://piafraus.bandcamp.com/album/autumn-winds https://youtu.be/yId5M5XHMUY https://youtu.be/f3kwOjcwFzI https://youtu.be/AWf-PcBtbjA *Continua en la siguiente página CEREMONY | FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINA EAST COAST USA | PSYCHO CANDY – SHOEGAZE Emerald and Doreen, Blue Aurora, famus class, No EMB blanc, Northern Star Records, Killer Pimp, Custom made, Safranin Sound (discográficas) CEREMONY 2018 : Sandra y John Fedowitz Ceremony fue formado por John Fedowitz, ex miembro de Skywave, y por otros músicos procedentes de bandas alternativas. • The Art of Depression with Sonic Boom
The Art of Depression With Sonic Boom Bittles‘ Magazine Sonic Boom is not only a fantastic name for a band, it is also the nom de plume of Peter ›Sonic Boom‹ Kember, who was one of the founding members of the exceedingly excellent Spacemen 3. Spectrum is the only commercially available album he ever released under this name, yet it still stands as a momentous record that bewitches with its dense, layered sound. Released over 20 years ago, it isn’t of its time, or this time, or any time. In fact it is something else, separated from trends, fads or anything else which dilutes music to a turgid meaningless mess. By JOHN BITTLES Peter’s first band Spacemen 3 saw him, and close friend Jason Pierce (who later went on to form Spiritualized) play together with a varied assortment of musicians all linked together in their love of weird psychedelic rock. For almost ten years the band gave the world the type of scuzzy garage noise that most lost and alienated young teens only ever see in particularly vivid wet dreams. Sonic Boom. Photo by Xi Weg Since the split of Spacemen 3 back in 1991 Peter Kember has been releasing quality head music under various aliases including Spectrum (sublime indie rock) and E.A.R. (Experimental Audio Research) (strange drone type sounds). He is also equally well known as a producer having lent his production nous to the likes of MGMT, Panda Bear, Teen and, just recently, the ten tracks of psychedelic weirdness that make up the marvellous album Chambers by Lorelle Meets The Obsolete.

PLAYING THE BASS BASS THE PLAYING WITH THREE LEFT HANDS WILL CARRUTHERS ‘ Will Carruthers’ Playing The Bass With Three Left Hands is at the least the funniest rock memoir since Andrew Matheson’s Sick on You. • High Concept Music for Low Concept Minds
High concept music for low concept minds Music | Bittles’ Magazine: The music column from the end of the world: August/September New albums reviewed Part 1 Music doesn’t challenge anymore! It doesn’t ask questions, or stimulate. Institutions like the X-Factor, Spotify, EDM and landfill pop chameleons are dominating an important area of culture by churning out identikit pop clones with nothing of substance to say. Opinion is not only frowned upon, it is taboo! By JOHN BITTLES This is why we need musicians like The Black Dog, people who make angry, bitter compositions, highlighting inequality and how fucked we really are. Their new album Neither/Neither is a sonically dense and thrilling listen, capturing the brutal erosion of individuality in an increasingly technological and state-controlled world. In doing so they have somehow created one of the most mesmerising and important albums of the year. Music isn’t just about challenging the system though. Great music comes in a wide variety of formats. Something proven all too well in the rest of the albums reviewed this month. For instance, we also have the experimental pop of Georgia, the hazy chill-out of Nils Frahm, the Vangelis-style urban futurism of Auscultation, the dense electronica of Mueller Roedelius, the deep house grooves of Seb Wildblood and lots, lots more. Somehow though, it seems only fitting to start with the chilling reflection on the modern day systems of state control that is the latest work by UK electronic veterans The Black Dog. Their new album has, seemingly, been created in an attempt to give the dispossessed and repressed the knowledge of who and what the enemy is so they may arm themselves and fight back.

iisiiil • ..... Cover: Rectoi ion Time - The Answ< la, p3 ! Rector's Question Time: 'I don't think that starving is the next option' Sir Eric Ash, Rector of Imperial College, took part in a question and answer session on Monday evening. Over a hundred students listened as Sir Eric fielded questions on a'wide range of student and non student issues. Union President , Mr Paul Shanley, chaired the discussion and took both prepared and spontaneous questions from the floor. Despite the controversial nature of many of the topics raised the atmosphere remained relaxed and somewhat informal. Although many questions centered on student concerns, money and accommodation - the lack of it, the presence of college staff ensured a broader base to the discussion. The most notable aspect of the discussion was the circular nature of many problems facing both student and staff alike; at the centre of that circle was money. In Sir Eric's own words 'people might find it hard to believe but before I came to Imperial I was not obsessed with money.' In answer to the question 'Now that the binary divide has gone, and that some polytechnics in London may achieve University status, is it time that Imperial should reconsider the benefits of London University and investigate opting out?' Sir Eric stated 'we haven't stopped thinking about it (opting out)'. He continued that althrinoh Imrwiiil '^a "6" iO run our own (university)', with Imperial Caught between the Devil and the deep blue sea gaining little benefit in terms of cut price deals organised through the University of investment of a loan.

We've put a ton of time and energyinto this particular edition, and we think you'll have lots of fun with the overview. After all, with some 90 + stations responding to our sur- vey, it's basically your window on RockWorld as it went down this past year. The first year of any new business is hell on wheels, (Groanong, creaking, barking dog sound efx, please) and we've seen quite a parade in '87. When I look back over my final comments last year (after nine issues), it sounded as if we had moved mountains. And in a way we had, starting from scratch to a full service publication some 140 stations deep. But in the 12 months since, it has become readily apparent that we were barely walking then. We've extended our reporter roster well past the 200 mark; Our New Alternative and Hard Rock sections have inspired numerous imitators, and our combi- nation of high technology and people power has effectively re -defined what a tip sheet can and will be in the years to come.

Press Release Art & Language Letters to The Jackson Pollock Bar in the Style of The Red Krayola Featuring Matthew Jesse Jackson John Coxon and J. Spaceman Thursday, October 24, 2019 504 West 24th Street, New York Doors: 6pm Performances: 6.30 – 8.30pm RSVP required: [email protected] Lisson Gallery New York is pleased to present a night of performance, discussion and music inspired by the pioneering work of Art & Language and their 40-year collaboration with The Red Krayola, a punk band founded in Houston, Texas, by Mayo Thompson and Frederick Barthelme in 1966. The evening will also feature a discussion with Art & Language, hosted by art historian Matthew Jesse Jackson, as well as a newly commissioned homage to some of The Red Krayola’s earliest live shows, composed by musicians J. Spaceman (of Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized) and John Coxon (from Spring Heel Jack and the Treader label). After the conceptual art group known as Art & Language was formed in 1968 at Coventry College of Art in the UK, it quickly spread to New York where it centered on two important journals, Art-Language (1969-85) and then later The Fox (1975-76), by which time some 20 artists were connected in various ways with the name. It was around this time that an album entitled Corrected Slogans came out, marking the first collaboration between Art & Language in the UK and The Red Krayola, in which snippets and slogans from conceptual art theory and philosophical tracts were sung or chanted over music composed in response by Thompson’s band.
