Na półki sklepowe trafiły więc albumy "Ruby Blue" (w 2005 roku) i "Overpowered" (w 2007), a Murphy sporo czasu i uwagi poświęciła następującym po nich trasach koncertowych. - Wynieśliśmy występy na żywo na kompletnie nowy poziom. Trasa, która nastąpiła po wydaniu "Overpowered" to jedno z najbardziej kreatywnych i satysfakcjonujących przedsięwzięć w jakie kiedykolwiek byłam zaangażowana - wspomina Murphy. Po trasie koncertowej Róisín skupiła się na życiu prywatnym. Pojawiła się gościnnie w kilku utworach - m.in. na płycie Davida Byrne’a i Fatboy Slim - i nagrała po włosku EPkę "Mi Senti". To była jednak dopiero nieśmiała zapowiedź jej wielkiego powrotu. Róisín zamknęła się w studio na pięć tygodni razem z Eddiem Stevensem, który odpowiada za jej brzmienie od 1997 roku. Nagrali wspólnie około trzydziestu piosenek, z których osiem trafiło na płytę Murphy - "Hairless Toys". Album zebrał bardzo dobre recenzje, "The Guardian" podkreślał, że jest to płyta celebrująca kulturę klubową, ale jednocześnie dojrzała i Róisín Murphy główną gwiazdą 595.
