On the Arno river in Pisa a very important feast takes place every year, the Luminara: on the evening of June 16th, a day before the day dedicated to San Ranieri, the patron of Pisa, hundreds of candles are lighted on the fronts of houses which overlook the River, and the sight is wonderful. Every window bears many little candles, called “lampanini”: lungarnos become a fairy world. Near San Casciano and San Frediano (the villages where we live) there are the banks of the Arno river, where you can walk, go jogging and ride a bike.
