Larvae of 17 Lycaenidae butterfly species from Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia were observed to retain at least some of their adaptations related to myrmecophily even after parasitic braconid larvae have emerged from them. The myrme- cophilous glandular organs and vibratory muscles of such larval carcasses remain functional for up to 8 days. The cuticle of lycaenid larvae contains extractable “adoption substances” which elicit anten- nal drumming in their tending ants. These adoption substances, as well, appear to persist in a functional state beyond parasitoid emer- gence, and the larval carcasses are hence tended much like healthy caterpillars. In all examples, the braconids may receive selective advantages through myrmecophily of their host larvae, instead of being suppressed by the ant guard. Interactions where parasitoids exploit the ant-mutualism of their lycaenid hosts have as yet been recorded only from the Apanteles group in the Braconidae- Microgasterinae. These specimens have been collected by students and teachers of the Department of Botany, Post Graduate Campus from various locations of eastern Nepal (tropical to temperate climates; 60 to 3000 m, msl altitudes) since the year 1992 onwards. For the purpose of easy access to the specimens, families within a taxon, genera within a family, and species within a genus are arranged alphabetically. Scientific names provided by Hara et al . (1978, 1979, 1982), Iwatsuki (1988), Koba et al . (1994), Siwakoti (1995), Press et al. (2000), Jha and Jha (2000), and Thapa (2002) have been adopted for the nomenclature of the reposited specimens. Caterpillars were sampled every month from January 2017 – June 2017. A total of 3,434 specimens were identified to 86 species, 55 genera, and 19 families and 37 morphospecies. The most abundant species was Euremablanda (n=1,280). The highest diversity was found in 500 meters above mean sea level (H'= 2.66) and the similarity of caterpillar that occurred in different elevation was low. Keywords: caterpillars, elevation, diversity, KhaoYai National Park. Introduction Khao Yai National Park is a Thailand's first national park, it is the third largest national park in Thailand. Situated mainly in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Khao Yai is part of Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, a world heritage site declared by UNESCO. In at least five different forest type, Khao Yai National Park has complex ecosystem with richness of plant and animal such as mammal bird reptile and insects. -

Abstract This study covers industry analysis, financial analysis and market analysis of Nepal orthodox tea. It aims to evaluate the industry forces, analyze the financial performance of firms, and assess market potential. The study is based on field survey, key informants’ interviews, and participant observation in combination with data from secondary sources. The financial information of 65 tea processing firms was collected using standard financial formats. The production and trade related statistical data were obtained from National Tea and Coffee Development Board Nepal, Trade and Export Promotion Center Nepal, FAOSTAT, International Trade Center and STATISTA. The results of industry analysis indicate that in general, tea processors have low bargaining power against input suppliers and tea buyers. The processing industry was found to be less attractive for new entrants. The threat of substitutes was found to be low. But there is intense internal competition among processing firms for resources and markets. Limited and inefficient production, low economies of scale, unorganized supply chain system, limited access to global market are the major binding constraints identified by this study. The results of the financial analysis found positive returns of investment and increasing returns to scale. However, the average capacity utilization of the processing firms is found to be 33 percent. -
