Councillor Mrs Jean Charman was elected Mayor for the municipal year 2012/13 and Councillor Paul White elected Deputy Mayor. Councillor Mrs Charman thanked the Council and Councillor Jeff Collins who had worked incredibly hard during his time as Mayor the previous year. She presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs Collins who had represented Camborne Town Council with Jeff at many civic events. Jean was delighted to present Town Plaques to Mrs Carol Kitto in recognition of her outstanding environmental work and many volunteer roles for Camborne; Claire Arymar and PCSO Andy Richards in recognition of their work and dedication to improve the quality of life for the people of Pengegon and Councillor Jeff Collins for his work as Mayor, Chairman of Camborne in Bloom and Christmas in Camborne Sub Committees and Chairman of the Discovery Map Steering Group. The Assembly was well attended by many members of the public who heard excellent talks by Malcolm Godolphin on the history of the Boys Brigade and Tony Brooks on the International Mining Games which were held at King Edward Mine this year. We are here to listen and help The Mayor is committed to doing her best for people living in the parish and has started holding weekly surgeries at the Basset Centre on Friday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm.
