er)remarksaboutthelanguages.Wewilllookatallthedescriptionsabout thisskillofTristanandofothercharactersandinvestigatehowtheycontrib- utetothewholestory.TheEnglishtranslationofGottfriedisthatofHatto

(1967).ForOldIcelandicandMiddleEnglishversions,thetranslationis minebutowesmuchtotheGermantranslationofK61bing(1878;1882)and theFrenchtranslationofBoyer(1995)andCr6pin(1995).
