Lighthouse Christian Academy Incoming 6th Grade Summer Reading and Writing Assignments D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths
God has spoken to mankind throughout the ages, meeting them and speaking to them in language that they could understand. His Truth was hidden, but not completely absent from the ancient world. The Messiah, Christ, the Lord, came in fulfillment of the scriptures and the Bible is the culminating Truth that is handed down to us, his people. Greek mythology can show us glimpses of how HIS TRUTH and BEAUTY flow through all ages, and through all peoples, and yet, is incomplete without the resurrected Christ. It is useful to take a look at these pagan stories and see what little truths they carry, as well as, what Truth they misunderstand.
