Guide to Mozilla Firefox

Firefox 4 introduced a new, redesigned interface. Upon first opening the browser, you will notice that the toolbar area looks completely different. The (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help) is no longer visible by default and there are fewer icons. Additionally, tabs are now displayed above the .

How do I access my Bookmarks?

Since the menu bar is no longer displayed, bookmarks can be accessed by clicking the Bookmarks button on the lower right-hand side of the toolbar, or by clicking the Firefox button on the upper left-hand side of the toolbar and hovering over Bookmarks.

Can I display the menu bar?

If you’d like to restore the menu bar that displays the File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help options, you can do this by clicking the Firefox button on the upper left-hand side of the toolbar, hovering over Options and selecting Menu Bar.

Can I move Tabs back under the Address Bar?

If you’d like to move Tabs back to their location under the Address Bar, you can do this by clicking the Firefox button on the upper left-hand side of the toolbar, hovering over Options and selecting Tabs on Top.

How do I turn on the Add-on Bar?

The Add-on Bar is a toolbar that displays at the bottom of the Firefox that displays information from Firefox add-ons. To turn this feature on, click the Firefox button on the upper left-hand side of the toolbar, hover over Options, and click Add-on Bar.

Where is the Reload (Refresh) button?

Most websites store certain information about their visitors’ behavior and often provide that information to other companies, such as advertisers. With version 4, Firefox introduces a Do-not-track feature that tells websites that you do not want your browsing behavior tracked. While this feature relies on websites voluntarily honoring this request, it may boost your privacy on the web.

To turn this feature on, click the Firefox button on the upper right-hand side of the toolbar and click Options.

In the Options window, click the Advanced button and check the box labeled “Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked” and click the OK button.

In Mozilla Firefox 5 and above, the web site tracking feature has been moved under the Privacy area as shown below.
