Profile I graduated in , specializing in Cosmic Physics, and I have a Master’s degree in Science Communication. Since 1989 I have been involved with communication of science, establishing an extended network of scientists, research institutions, universities and communicators all over the world. I have been working at Sissa Medialab since 2005 participating in various projects at an international level: institutional outreach activities, European projects on science and society, museum and exhibition design, as well as training courses for various audiences (scientists, museum explainers, science journalists, teachers, etc.), websites and magazines, science and mathematics school texts, scientific expeditions, documentary films. I have written eight books related to my activities as science communicator and have won various prizes (Pirelli Internetional Award, Premio Andersen, White Ravens, Frascati Scienza, Sissa Medal). My commitment to society extends to my life outside of work where I participate in volunteer activities related to empowering women in Nepal, often communicating with the world through my photos and writings.

Sissa Medialab, a company owned by SISSA (Trieste, Italy) specialized in communication of science, the home of JHEP and one of the leading centre for the communication of science Europe. Annual budget 2,5 million euros. I have designed, managed, coordinated national and international projects in almost all fields of science communication. I have given a contribution to the growth of the European community of science communicators.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

‣ Training: Designing, implementing and delivering the Jcom Masterclasses, and a number of other international courses in science communication (CERN, King's College London, ICTP in Trieste, INGV in , INFN in Rome, CRO of Aviano and many others) (2011 onwards). ‣ Public engagement: Designing and managing the public engagement activities of SISSA in the frame of the international network of the Children Universities (EUCU.NET) (2012 onwards). Building a learning communities including science communication practitioners and young scientists.
