MARS 2018 18. mars 2018 slippes "Jericho Sirens", det svært etterlengtede fjerde albumet fra San Diego-punk-rockerne Hot Snakes – og bandets første på hele 14 år. Tidligere denne måneden ga Hot Snakes fansen vann i munnen med en 60 sekunder lang teaser (av totalt 78 sekunder) av den eksplosive låta "Why Don't It Sink In?", og i går var det radiopremiere hos Sirius XMU på den stormende første singelen "Six Wave Hold-Down". HØR DEN NYE SINGELEN "SIX WAVE HOLD DOWN" HER STREAM "SIX WAVE HOLD DOWN" PÅ SPOTIFY HER Hot Snakes består av Rick Froberg, John Reis, Gar Wood, Jason Kourkounis og Mario Rubalcaba. "The Swami" John Reis og Rick Froberg har laget musikk sammen siden videregående, som bandet Pitchfork i 1986, og som Drive Like Jehu i 1991, før de ble til Hot Snakes i 1999. Sammen står de bak noe av sin generasjons mest turbulente rock. Hot Snakes ga ut tre studioalbum med høyhastighets, aggressiv, piss-punk: "Automatic Midnight" fra 2000, "Suicide Invoice" fra 2002, og "Audit in Progress" fra 2004. Bandet la opp i 2005, men ble gjenforent i anledning en triumferende verdensturné i 2011. Nå, etter en 14 år lang pause fra studio, er Hot Snakes plutselig tilbake i livene våre med "Jericho Sirens". "I considered stopping playing guitar on a social media poll after I completely mastered the instrument", forteller Reis beskjedent. Albumet inkorporerer de mest ekstreme ytterkantene av Hot Snakes sitt sound, samtidig som det er trofast mot gamle inspirasjonskilder som Wipers, Dead Moon, Michael Jackson og Suicide. "Jericho Sirens" er produsert av bandet selv og ble spilt inn i rykk og napp i løpet av fjoråret, stort sett i San Diego og Philadelphia, med bassist Gar Wood, Jason Kourkounis og Mario Rubalcaba, som begge har spilt trommer på tidligere Hot Snakes-slipp, bare aldri på det samme.
