Sherrell Mitchell Price, Dept. Head Accounting, Economics and Finance

Dr. Sherrell Price is currently Department Head for the Accounting, Economics and Finance Department in the Brimmer College of Business and Information Science. Dr. Price has over 25 years of experience in Higher Education. She has served as an administrator and a faculty member.

Sherrell began her career at Tuskegee University in 1994 as an assistant professor and returned in 2013 as an associate professor. She was later named department chair in 2016. Since that time she has served as an advisor to NABA (National Association of Black Accountants) and several other student organizations. She is a 2 time recipient of the TUBE Teacher of the Year Award

Prior to her assignment as Department Head in the College of Business here at Tuskegee University, Sherrell was the Budget Analyst for the Office of Business Finance at Alabama A&M University. She also served as the Director of Admissions at Miles College and the Welfare to Work Director at Lawson State Community college in Birmingham, Alabama.

Before her career in Higher Education Dr. Price worked in various State and Federal Government Agencies. She was an Internal Revenue Agent and also an Auditor for the State of Tennessee. Sherrell worked in Institutional Research at Alabama A&M University as the School’s Assessment Coordinator and was a part of the team to receive a stellar report from SACS with no recommendations. This Quality Enhancement team was responsible for streamlining processes needed to assess student learning outcomes.

Dr. Price holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Alabama A&M University and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from the University of Alabama. She also holds a Post Doctorate Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University Of Florida.
