ADRIAN GONZALEZ SCHOLARSHIP Adrian Gonzalez Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating public high school seniors •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university in in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 to 3.75 on a 4.0 scale •• Have a history of active involvement in athletics, other extracurricular activities or work experience •• Have completed at least 150 hours of meaningful community service •• Have a demonstrated financial need

ALBERT W. AND MILDRED HUBBARD SCHOLARSHIP Albert W. and Mildred Hubbard Scholarship applicants must: •• Reside in Escondido, CA or Valley Center, CA at the time of their application •• Be graduating seniors or graduates of a high school in Escondido, CA or Valley Center, CA that have attended such high school for 4 years, or graduating seniors from a community college in that have lived in Escondido or Valley Center for the 4-year period prior to graduation •• Plan to enroll full-time (12 units minimum) at an accredited two-year junior or community college in California, or an accredited four-year college or university in California, in all cases pursuing a bachelor’s degree •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Demonstrate the potential to achieve a successful academic experience leading to a bachelor’s degree at the college the applicant is planning to attend, e.g. having SAT and/or ACT scores that demonstrate an ability to complete the course work necessary to earn a bachelor’s degree at such college. SAT and ACT scores are considered in light of the college the applicant is planning to attend. •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be United States citizens or permanent legal residents Required additional materials: 1) Unofficial copy of your current transcript. 2) Unofficial copy of your SAT or ACT scores.

AMANDA POST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Amanda Post Memorial Scholarship applicants must: •• Be female graduating San Diego County high school seniors •• Plan to attend a four-year university in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have participated in San Diego varsity CIF cross-country and/or distance track (800 meters or greater) and plan to run cross-country and/or distance track (800 meters or greater) on a college or university NCAA competitive team (Criteria continued on next page) 3 SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020

AMY FOSTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Amy Foster Memorial Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating seniors attending a high school in Escondido, CA •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States in fall •• Have attended Lincoln Elementary School in Escondido grades K-6 •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a history of active involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service, or work experience •• Demonstrate social responsibility and a high level of integrity •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be United States citizens

ANKLESARIA FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Anklesaria Family Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be enrolled or will be enrolled full-time at a four-year university, community college, or career/technical school in the United States •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 (min.) to 3.5 (max.) on a 4.0 scale •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Meaningful community service and strong essay storytelling will be carefully considered

ANTONIO BIONDO SCHOLARSHIP Antonio Biondo Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be undergraduate students who are currently enrolled full-time at San Diego State University (SDSU) and pursuing a career in public service (i.e. social worker, public administration, government, nonprofit, governmental or public interest law, etc.) •• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be foreign-born immigrants or children of a foreign-born immigrant from a developing country

AUSTIN BICE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Austin Bice Memorial Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating San Diego County high school seniors •• Plan to enroll full-time at San Diego State University in fall •• Have participated in a high school varsity sport (one year minimum) •• Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents

AVID SENIOR STANDOUT/FOUNDER’S/HIGH TECH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND AVID TODD GUTSCHOW SCHOLARSHIP AVID Scholarship applicants must: •• Be San Diego County high school seniors who have been selected as a “Senior Standout” OR “Top STEM Scholar” by the AVID site team and senior AVID teacher. •• Have participated in an approved AVID program for three or more years, including enrollment during the senior year of high school •• Plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the United States in fall •• Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (3.2 minimum for “Top STEM Scholars”) •• Have taken two or more AP/IB courses and/or dual or concurrent enrollment in a college/university course (must appear on high school transcript or college transcript must be provided). These courses should be STEM-related for “Top STEM Scholars.” •• Have completed a minimum 10 hours of community service, preferably STEM-related for those who are a “Top STEM Scholar” •• Have participated in at least one year of an extra-curricular activity Required additional materials: One letter of recommendation on official school letterhead from an AVID teacher or site team member nominating you as your only school’s “Senior Standout” OR an AVID science or math teacher or site team member nominating you as one of your school’s “Top AVID STEM Scholars.”

BALLARD FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Ballard Family Foundation Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be between the ages of 17 and 25 •• Be or have been in foster care •• Plan to enroll or are already enrolled full-time at an accredited community college, four-year university, or career/technical school in the United States in fall

•• Have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale or a college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents Special consideration will be given to African-American students Required additional materials: A letter on official letterhead or other official document verifying you are currently or have been in foster care.

BARBARA MONROE SCHOLARSHIP Barbara Monroe Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be current undergraduate students who will continue to be enrolled as full-time undergraduates at an accredited public or private four-year university in the United States •• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0 •• Be actively involved in serving their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service or work experience •• Be currently employed at least 10 hours a week •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents Required additional materials: Letter from workplace supervisor on official letterhead verifying employment for at least 10 hours per week and including your position held, job responsibilities and length of employment.

BARTA-LEHMAN MUSICAL SCHOLARSHIP •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating high school seniors, current undergraduates, or graduate students who are serious and talented musicians planning to pursue a career in music and/or play professionally (string instruments preferred) •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university or music academy in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents •• Past recipients may re-apply and will compete with all other applicants Required additional materials: (1) Letter of recommendation (on official letterhead) from applicant’s music teacher indicating his/her level of talent and seriousness about pursuing music as a career; (2) A CD or DVD of applicant’s music. Materials will not be returned.

BARTON-TOMLINSON SCHOLARSHIP Barton-Tomlinson Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time at a four-year undergraduate university, community college, or nonprofit career/technical school in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a demonstrated financial need Meaningful community service considered

BILL WAITE SCHOLARSHIP Bill Waite Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating high school seniors who are current members of a high school sailing team and/or yacht club junior programs in SD County •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited public or private four-year college in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale Required additional materials: Essay (maximum 250 words) describing the benefits you have enjoyed from being involved in sailing and your sailing accomplishments while in high school.

BLCI COLLEGE SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIP BLCI College Success Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating high school seniors enrolled in the Barrio Logan College Institute •• Plan to enroll at an accredited community college or university resulting in a bachelor’s degree •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Exemplify leadership and commitment to their community •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Agree to participate in required program activities, including monthly communications with the BLCI Director of College and Career Success, mentorship and internship placement, and summer orientation program •• Make a personal commitment to give back to BLCI and their community during and after college in meaningful and creative ways including, but not limited to, participation in BLCI events, mentoring other BLCI students, or donating time and resources Required additional materials: 1) Essay (maximum 500 words) addressing “How will you use your higher education to make an impact on the world?” 2) Unofficial copy of your current transcript.

BOOST SAN DIEGO SCHOLARSHIP Boost San Diego Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating high school seniors •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited community college or four-year undergraduate college or university in the United States in fall •• Have parents who did not attend college •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Plan to major in science, technology, engineering, math, nursing, gerontology, business/accounting, construction management, or other related fields •• Demonstrate strong character and a high level of integrity •• Have a demonstrated financial need

BORREGO SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP Borrego Springs High School College Scholarship applicants must: •• Be current graduating seniors and students who have already graduated from Borrego Springs High School •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year undergraduate university, community college, or nonprofit career/technical school in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.9 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be involved in the community through their participation in extra-curricular or religious activities or volunteer or work experience

CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES – SAN DIEGO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP California Association of Family and Consumer Sciences – San Diego Chapter Scholarship applicants must: •• Reside in California, though priority will be given to applicants who have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating high school seniors, current college students, or graduate students majoring in Food Sciences; Dietetics; Nutrition; Food Services; Hospitality; Human, Child and Family Development; Apparel, Fashion and Textile Services; Housing and Interiors; Consumer Economic; Management and Resources; or Family and Consumer Science Education •• Plan to attend or currently attend an accredited four-year university, community college, or licensed career/ technical school in the United States (undergraduate recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 units per semester or 9 per quarter); graduate students may be enrolled full-time or part-time with awards allocated appropriately based upon enrollment units)

CAROLINE CROSBY SCHOLARSHIP Caroline Crosby Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be graduating seniors at Point Loma High School •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year university or community college in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Be engaged in their community through their involvement in extra-curricular, community service and/or work activities •• Have a demonstrated financial need

CELE AND LEW KIPPERMAN SCHOLARSHIP Cele and Lew Kipperman Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating seniors at Coronado High School •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university, community college or career/technical school in the United States •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Plan to pursue a degree and/or career in business or education •• Have a history of active involvement in athletics (required for male applicants), extracurricular activities, community service and/or work experience

CHARLENE TRESSLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Charlene Tressler Memorial Scholarship applicants must: •• Be current college/university students, current community college students, adult re-entry students, or individuals planning to attend (within 12 months) a public or private four-year college/university or community college in San Diego County •• Be currently employed in a paid position as a teacher, teacher’s aide, support teacher, or administrator in a San Diego County licensed child care facility, or San Diego County licensed home day care with at least three children ages 0-5 years •• Be pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (ages 0-5; does not include those studying K-12 education) •• Have a career goal to work in San Diego County as a teacher or administrator with children ages 0-5 years

•• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale if currently enrolled in school •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents Recipients will be asked to submit a letter from their employer and a copy of their California child care license as verification and prior to receiving the scholarship. Required additional materials: Essay (maximum 500 words) addressing the prompt: “Describe your recent experience working as an early childhood teacher, teacher’s aide, support teacher or administrator. Include your positions, what age groups of children you worked with and what types of childcare facilities you worked in. Also describe your leadership experience.”

CHARLES AND ARDEL HAMILTON/BBPA SCHOLARSHIP Charles & Ardel Hamilton Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating seniors at Bonita Vista High School residing in Bonita, CA (zip code 91902) or Chula Vista, CA (zip codes 91910, 91911, 91913, 91914, or 91915), or children or grandchildren of BBPA members who are graduating high school seniors •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited community college or four-year university in the United States in fall •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents

CHILD OF DIVORCE SCHOLARSHIP Child of Divorce Scholarship applicants must: •• Have been affected by Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) •• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Be under 30 years old •• Previous recipients may reapply Required additional materials: Essay (maximum 500 words) describing how PAS has affected you. Examples of topics that could be addressed include: When did you first realize you had been influenced? How were you influenced in subtle ways that you did not detect at the time? What do you wish you/the parent who influenced you/the parent you were influenced against had done differently? If you could go back in time and talk to your younger self, what would you tell yourself? (These are just sample ideas.)

COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP Community Scholarship Program Committee Scholarship applicants must: •• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year •• Be currently enrolled at a community college •• Plan to transfer to a four-year university and attend full-time in the fall •• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale •• Have a commitment to making their community a better place as demonstrated by their community service or extra-curricular activities •• Have a demonstrated financial need

DAVID HUOT WEST SCHOLARSHIP David Huot West Scholarship applicants must: •• Be graduating seniors at Borrego Springs High School •• Plan to enroll full-time at a four-year university in the United States •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a demonstrated financial need •• Be United States citizens or permanent residents Preference will be given to students with a physical disability Additional materials: If you have a physical disability, essay (maximum 250 words) clearly addressing how your life has been affected by your physical disability.

WITT MATHENY SCHOLARSHIP Witt Matheny Scholarship applicants must: •• Be LGBTQ graduating San Diego County high school seniors •• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited community college or licensed career/technical school in California •• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale •• Have a passion for the major they’re pursuing, as demonstrated in their application •• Have a demonstrated financial need
