  • PR RKH Opened Doha Metro May 8, 2019.Pdf
RKH Qitarat, composed of RATP Dev, Keolis and Hamad Group, opened Doha Metro Red Line South On 8 May 2019, RKH Qitarat, the joint venture consisting of RATP Dev, Keolis and Hamad Group 1, opened the first section of the Doha metro to the public. This follows the award in December 2017 by Qatar Rail of a contract to operate and maintain Qatar’s first urban rail transport network for a period of 20 years. The network includes three automated metro lines in Doha, the Qatari capital, and four tram lines located in the city of Lusail. On 8 May 2019, the Doha Metro Red Line South opened to the public. Initial operation includes 13 out of 18 stations of the line, which will connect Al Qassar in the North to Al Wakrah in the South. For this first stage of the launch, service will be ensured from Sunday to Thursday, from 8am to 11pm. It is an important stage for testing the Doha Metro system with passengers, providing an opportunity to evaluate and review the performance in preparation for the full operation of the network in 2020. This major urban project is of crucial importance for the region as 90% of the Qatari population currently live in Doha and its surrounding suburbs (equivalent to 2.6 million people). Qatar wants to make the city of Doha more attractive to visitors and facilitate the daily journeys of the population as the country prepares for the post-fuel extraction era. The Doha metro will be completely automated and driverless, incorporating three lines (Red, Green and Gold) 75km of track and 37 stations.

Azerbaijan 2017 Crime & Safety Report Overall Crime and Safety Situation U.S. Embassy Baku does not assume responsibility for the professional ability or integrity of the persons or firms appearing in this report. The ACS Unit cannot recommend a particular individual or location and assumes no responsibility for the quality of service provided. THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE HAS ASSESSED BAKU AS BEING A MEDIUM-THREAT LOCATION FOR CRIME DIRECTED AT OR AFFECTING OFFICIAL U.S. GOVERNMENT INTERESTS. Please review OSAC’s Azerbaijan-specific webpage for proprietary analytic reports, Consular Messages, and contact information. Crime Threats Criminal acts committed against foreigners are infrequent in Baku. The majority of reported crimes involve Azerbaijani citizens, with burglary and assault being the most common. Late- night targeted attacks against lone men are the most common crimes perpetrated against foreigners. Petty thefts (pickpocketing), while not common, are sometimes perpetrated against foreigners in Baku. Expatriates are at greater risk of being victims of petty crime in areas that attract large crowds or are very isolated. Some U.S. citizens, most commonly males, have reported being victims of certain scams in bars frequented by Westerners. Commonly, a male patron is approached by a young woman who asks him to buy her a drink. After buying the woman a drink and conversing, the male is presented with a bill for 375 AZN (approximately US$200). When he protests, he is approached by several men, detained, and forced to pay the full amount under threat of physical violence. Some women have reported incidents of unwanted male attention, including groping and other inappropriate behavior while walking on the streets alone and when taking taxis.

HIZLI RAYLI SİSTEMLERİN YOLCU TAŞIMA KAPASİTE HESAPLAMALARI VE TÜRKİYEDEKİ BENZER SİSTEMLERİN BİRBİRLERİYLE KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI Ilgaz CANDEMİR_ , Serhan TANYEL_ SUMMARY Rail transit systems are found to be the most trusted transit systems all over the world. They have become one of the main parts of daily urban life as they provide, fast, safe and comfortable journey for passengers. If they are planned precisely, capacities up to10000-40000 passengers/hour can be achieved. They are also used as an important tool for to maintain well developed cities and provide dynamic city centers. In this study, some of the most important rail transit systems in Turkey are introduced. Their capacities tried to be determined by using different capacity calculation methods and the results are tired to be compared. ÖZET Dünyada halen en güvenilir ulaşõm modu, raylõ sistemlerdir. • How Should Techno Parks Innovate to Support Start-Ups and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Effectively in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution?
https://doi.org/10.7165/wtr17a0829.16 OPEN ACCESS How Should Techno Parks Innovate to Support Start-ups and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Effectively in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution? Inje Cho1, Eung-Hyun Lee2, Hoonje Cho3* 1 CEO of Actnerlab 2 Researcher of World Technopolis Association 3 Invited Professor of Chungnam National University Abstract In 1995, the Republic of Korea started to establish Techno Park (TP) in order to develop the regional industry while promoting the balanced development of the land. By 2008, 18TPs were established nationwide and have become cradles for developing local industries. And recently evolved forms of TP such as Daedeok Techno Valley and Pangyo Techno Valley emerged. In addition, 19 Centers for Creative Economy and Innovation (CCEI) were established nationwide and Tech-Incubator Program for start-ups (TIPS) was introduced to support and mentor start-ups. TPs in Korea become bureaucratic in course of time, and the new trial of innovation of TP is needed. In Korea, professional TIPS-accelerators mentoring and investing start-ups have a history of only five years. But they support and mentor start-ups efficiently, and have obtained good results. In this paper, we propose that TP attract TIPS-accelerators actively and collaborate with each other to support and mentor start-ups and SMEs effectively. GLOBAL METRO PROJECTS REPORT 2012 Metropolitan railways (metros) are high capacity electric transport systems that operate on dedicated routes, and can thereby achieve high service speed and frequency. Over the last few years, metros (also known as subway, underground or tube) have evolved as an efficient and effective urban mobility solution in addressing the growing concerns of urbanisation and climate change. This is supported by the fact that despite high capital requirements the sector witnessed a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.7 per cent between 2005 and 2010. In high density urban areas, metros form the backbone of integrated public transport systems and offer proven economic, social and environmental benefits. Given the huge investment requirement and long life span, metro systems have always been a driving force for technological and financial innovations. Government and metro operators are constantly seeking solutions to improve reliability and customer service, lower fuel and maintenance costs, as well as increase efficiency and safety levels in operations. The Global Metro Projects Report provides updated information on the world's top 101 metro projects that present significant capital investment opportunities. These projects have a total existing network length of about 8,900 km and a proposed length of over 8,000 km. The report covers 51 countries representing about 80 per cent of the world’s gross domestic product. It presents the key information required to assess investment opportunities in the development of new lines, extension and upgrade of existing lines, rolling stock procurement and refurbishment, power and communication systems upgrades, fare collection, as well as station construction and refurbishment.
