DreamSky

Dimitar Lukanov

Height of tripod support: 10-12ft; tripod pillars: 6” diameter; 1⁄2” thickness; total height of and tripod support: 18ft Sculpture weight: up to 2000lb. Medium: Stainless steel, epoxy primer, T-nemec raisin paint (one of the highest grade exterior metal paint with multi-decades longevity).

DreamSky is a sculpture like no other. A mesmerizing labyrinth of vibrant, full-of-life matter yet a playful distribution of void and air. A sculpture that breathes, that calls upon, meandering in space. Is it a smile, is it a multitude of hearts, interwoven; community of elements that stays together, mutually supportive, a point toward everyone would be drawn to, united.

3 of 25 Lukanov

Is it a water reflection of an ocean, river or a lake or a speck of fantastical nature in the midst of the city; or is it a flow of a rainbow dissolved in the air, ephemeral – or it is all of that at the same time?

DreamSky would “live” as a pulsating, vibrant juxtaposition to its surroundings, as an aerial see-through crossroad, a cumulative, multi-element/direction structure that would mirror the multi-faceted, melting pot multicultural nature of Florida. Lit at night, sculpture would “live” to be a beacon, a symbol of growth, renewal and continuum, indeed an energy-charged signage of the median of the street and the roundabout. DreamSky would serve as an enhanced connector, "bridging" existing and newly constructed urban infrastructure of the city with the urban community at large.

Colors of the Sea

Dimitar Lukanov Multi-color/ interchanging colors, Approx. height =18-20ft, depth = 7ft, width = 5ft; weight: 2500-3000 lbs. Notions of: - solemn, slender elevation of water - radiance, movement upward

5 of 25 Lukanov

- immediate vibrancy - warmth in color and silhouette - optimistic, uplifting gesture Colors of the Sea would be comprised by telescoping steel tubing as well as approximately 100 steel elements, sculpture will be of vertical presence. Its projected height of 20ft will develop the idea of “Waterfall of the Sun” to its full potential in the public realm. Weight distribution will be key structural facet. Both tubing and elements will be heavier at lower portion, which will contain 60% of piece’s weight. The upper portion will be of 30% of overall weight. Indicated depth/width would occur in the aerial development of piece (above ground). Multi-color palette. Stainless Steel. T-nemec paint with epoxy primer and raisin paint.

Never Setting Sun

Executed in stainless steel with T-nemec paint for maximum durability and longevity of color, the piece will indeed be as a pulsating, vibrant juxtaposition to its surroundings, as an aerial see-through crossroad, a cumulative, multi-element/direction structure that would mirror the multi-faceted, melting pot multicultural nature of Florida.

Windmills of my Mind (inspired by a musical composition by Michel Legrand)

Suggested dimensions: h=15ft x 17ft x 17ft; A playful, aerial ensemble basking in warm yellow; The sculpture’s imagery “rolls” endlessly, and in this jovial manner, the piece has no beginning or end. Medium: Stainless steel, epoxy primer, T-nemec raisin paint (one of the highest grade exterior metal paint with multi-decades longevity).

Outside Time 30ft x 15ft x 12ft (10m x 4.50m x 3.70m) steel, aluminum, JFK IAT, LLC Commission 2014, JFK International Airport, New York; The massive - yet 90- percent airborne - steel/aluminum Outside Time, installed in February 2014, is the cerebral, ethereal flight of matter dissolved within the air. An engineering achievement with its 30-foot airborne span, the sculpture is an ephemeral, transparent membrane between travelers clearing TSA checkpoints and taxiing aircraft, the control tower and the sky.

Voice of Tomorrow 9ft x 14ft x 5ft (2.75m x 4.30m x 1.50m) Steel, JFK IAT, LLC Commission. 2014, JFK International Airport, New York; with its brilliant color, Voice of Tomorrow is situated at the high traffic intersection at the end of the central retail hall and the start of the Delta Airlines boarding gates walkway. Comprised of 150 feet of bent steel tubing and 150 elements, the sculpture radiates its warmth beyond the physical boundaries of its construction.

Entrance to Now 2018, Stainless steel, h=15ft x 30ft x 35ft, This architecture-in-motion – never the same from any direction - is a breathless drawing in space, a sailing dream, a bridge within a bridge, a waterfall – all in an instant of time, a gateway to a new hope.

The 4000lb of stainless steel tubing (800ft) was bent and constructed by the artist without the use of computer as his winning proposal for Amsterdam NY pedestrian bridge. The veritable “architectural sculpture” serves a dual purpose - as an entryway to Riverlink Park/Amsterdam Pedestrian Bridge as well as a focal point of South Amsterdam's main thoroughfare, Bridge St.
