Emerging Artist Sculpture Commission Calling all artists who have a passion for large outdoor sculpture to gain experience, exposure, and display their work in the public arena. Olathe will be commissioning one original piece of outdoor sculpture to be made by a promising developing artist. Eligibility Important Dates Open to all artists 18 years of age and older and residing in the Nov. 11, 2019 - Submission due date greater Kansas City area who have not yet had a public work Nov. 25, 2019 - Notification of commission to selected artist commissioned or displayed. April 29, 2020 - Artwork completed and ready for inspection Submission Requirements May 15, 2020 - Installation deadline May 1, 2021 - Artwork to be reclaimed by artist • Drawing: Accurate, to-scale drawing of the proposed sculpture with dimensions clearly labeled.
