Favorite Moments from our 2018 T r i p

The Barolo Grill staff makes an annual summer trek to Italy, visiting spectacular food and establishments. During the summer of 2018, we landed in Rome and visited a nearby winery in Lazio before we ventured to the classic wine regions of Le Marche, Toscana and Piemonte. We also stopped in Emilia-Romagna along the way to tour facilities that produce iconic artisanal food products: Proscuitto di Parma, Parmegianno Reggiano, and Traditional Balsamic from Modena. We were charmed by the Marche, where the nearby Adriatic to the east and the Appenines to the west influence the climate and make the perfect home for the noble Verdicchio grape. While in Toscana, we focused the appellation of Montepulciano, and discovered the graceful beauty of Sangiovese (Prugnollo Gentile) at both traditional and more modern wineries. We ended our journey in majestic Piemonte…and fell in love all over again with the wines and the people of Barolo and Barbaresco.

This page features an outstanding selection of wines for you to explore from our travels.
