The Founder of the Ljubljana Festival Is the City of Ljubljana the Patron
The Founder of the Ljubljana Festival is the City of Ljubljana The Patron of the 2019 Ljubljana Festival is the Mayor of the City of Ljubljana, Mr Zoran Janković. PRESS RELEASE Ljubljana, May 2019 LJUBLJANA FESTIVAL – CULTURAL HUB AT THE HEART OF YOUR SUMMER CULTURAL EXPERIENCE Every summer the Ljubljana Festival makes an important contribution to the cultural life of Ljubljana with a carefully selected programme covering a wide variety of genres. Today’s press conference in the Red Hall at Ljubljana Town Hall served to present this year’s 67th Ljubljana Festival, which will run from July until September. Once again the festival will feature ballet and opera performances, musicals, chamber and symphonic concerts, the International Fine Arts Colony, workshops for children and young people, the Ljubljana Festival on the Ljubljanica, and much more. Even before the official start of the festival, you will have the unique opportunity to hear Verdi’s Requiem conducted by the great Plácido Domingo, in his first appearance as a conductor in Slovenia. This pre-festival event will be followed at beginning of July by the most eagerly awaited cultural event of the year: the opening of the 67th Ljubljana Festival, which gets under way with Aida, one of the best known and most frequently performed operas not only of Verdi's oeuvre, but in the entire history of opera. Director Dražen Siriščević’s imaginative staging will make the most of the outdoor setting and the opera will include an appearance by thoroughbred Lipizzaner horses from the stud farm in Lipica. The events of the Ljubljana Festival take place throughout the summer and Slovenia’s capital will continue to welcome some of the biggest names in music – performers of worldwide renown – right up until September. -
To Have Your Own Voice
TO HAVE YOUR OWN VOICE CELEBRATORY CONVOCATION MARKING THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA Honourable friend of the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana! In 2019/2020, the Faculty of Law celebrated the hundredth anniversary of its foundation. This important milestone has been marked with a series of events, which we solemnly commenced on 31 October 2018 with the unveiling of a monument in the main faculty hall in remembrance of the formation of the first Slovenian government, the SHS National Government in Ljubljana, which took place in our present building. Together with the Institute of Contemporary History, we also organised a scientific symposium in honour of the state-building cooperation endeavours of attorneys, in particular our registrars, in this critical juncture in history. In the festive year that followed, our younger colleagues presented the life and work of their older predecessors at numerous faculty meetings and members of the library self-sacrificingly participated in the preparation of an extensive exhibition showcased in the faculty lobby and its corridors. In the winter of 2020, we organised a large international conference with the central theme of Law and (R)evolution 1920–2020, which summed up the title of the inaugural lecture of the first dean of the faculty, Professor Leonid Pitamic, in the Assembly Hall of the university on April 15, 1920. We have invited to the conference our colleagues from various foreign universities, with whom we have been cooperating for many years, and some of whom we will have the opportunity to hear and see tonight as well. -

App. E1.1 - the Earthquake of 25 May 1448 in Catalonia
"A Basic European Earthquake Catalogue and a Database for the evaluation of long-term seismicity and seismic hazard" (BEECD) App. E1.1 - The earthquake of 25 May 1448 in Catalonia study by Salicrú i Lluch R., 1995. The 1448 earthquake in Catalonia. Some effects and local reactions. Annali di Geofisica, 38, pp. 503-513 short comment by V. Castelli For this earthquake the BEECD WF contains the following entry, coming from the input PEC MEM83. The root is to be considered "hidden" among the references supplied by this PEC. Ds Ye Mo Da Ho Mi Ax R Rc Nmo Ix Io Lat Lon Mm MEM83 1448 05 24 01 30 CARDEDEU.B HID 3C - 0 80 41.633 02.333 - This earthquake has been recently studied by Salicrú i Lluch (1995). Brief analysis of the sources used by the study The study starts from a summary of the available dataset, collected by the leading Catalan seismological compilation (Fontserè and Iglésies, 1971) and consisting of "several contemporary chronistic and narrative sources from Barcelona [...] Perpinyà [...] Vic [...] and Girona [...]". The study then goes on to improve this reasonably good, but uneven dataset by adding new, unpublished contemporary sources and giving a new interpretation of a document already known to Fontserè and Iglésies (1971), which connected it to an earthquake occurred in September 1450. The study shows that it was written on July 1450 and could therefore be related to the previous event. The new data come from the episcopal archives of Barcelona and the central archives of the Aragonese kingdom (ACA, 1453; Acords, 1424-1451; ADV, 1450; Dietari, 1411-1458; ADB, 1448-1453; Jornades, 1411-1484; Revista, 1881). -
