KANE COUNTY DIVISION of TRANSPORTATION KANE COUNTY DIVISION of TRANSPORTATION Carl Schoedel, P.E. 41W011 Burlington Road Director of Transportation St. Charles, IL 60175 County Engineer Phone: (630) 584-1170 Fax: (630) 584-5239 June 18, 2019 PRESS RELEASE 2019 Kane County Pavement Marking Program Kane County Section No. 19-00000-05-GM Kane County Section No. 19-00000-06-GM The annual Kane County Pavement Marking Program work will begin the week of June 24, 2019, weather permitting. The work shall include installation of urethane and paint pavement makings onto 233 miles of County highways as indicated on the attached maps. The County’s typical process is to apply paint pavement markings annually on the majority of the County’s rural highways and the more durable urethane pavement marking to the high volume County highways. This pavement marking project will improve the visibility of the lane markings for the motoring public. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October, weather dependent. Temporary daily lane closures will be required Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to safely accomplish this work. Lane closures are scheduled to start in the north end of the county, working their way south until all necessary lane lines have been restriped, weather dependent. The north to south progression may change as weather impacts may dictate alternate striping sequences. Temporary flagger control of intersections will be required along the entire route in order to safely accomplish the required work. Please watch for workers, equipment on the roadway and shoulders, anticipate increased travel times and exercise caution while traveling in freshly painted areas. Work Zone Safety Alert Drivers in this project area should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, watch for construction workers and construction vehicles entering or leaving the site, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone. Drivers should expect delays and may want to add additional time to their commutes and consider the use of alternate routes while this work is completed. KDOT reminds drivers that is illegal to talk on a cell phone or text while driving through a highway construction work zone. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Higgins Road, subject to the following conditions: 1. The approval of the Special Use is based on the application materials submitted by the petitioner for this request as well as all site plan conditions of approval being met. 2. The building permit shall be obtained within twelve (12) months of the Village Board action on this request. 3. A performance guarantee based on an Engineers Estimate for all exterior building and site work shall be submitted to the Village prior to issuance of a building permit. 4. A permit from IDOT shall be provided to the Village prior to construction commencing in the Higgins Road right-of-way. 5. A permit from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) shall be provided to the Village prior to site construction commencing. 6. No signage is approved with these plans.
