ROYAL SEASON COMING TO UKTV

UKTV is pleased to announce Royal Season, airing on UKTV on Wednesdays nights at 8.30pm from October 28th. Royal Season will cover everything from the of the Queen and Prince Phillip to the recent royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and everything in between.

The season kicks off with Invitation to A Royal Wedding where we look at the key ingredients of a royal wedding. Next we take a close look at Queen Elizabeth II in Queen of the World. Their Royal Highnesses Prince William and Prince Harry talk openly for the first about their mother Diana in Diana Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. Queen Elizabeth recalls a very special event in The Coronation and to finish off the season we look at the wedding of the Queen and Prince Philip in A Very Royal Wedding.

Invitation to a Royal Wedding explores Royal weddings and offers privileged insights into what goes into planning an international event of this scale and profile. Interviewees include a diverse range of voices, from cake makers, florists and dress designers to guests at previous Royal weddings and Royal household staff, revealing the details behind the centuries of tradition that go into making every Royal wedding an eye-catching spectacle. The two-part series Queen of the World takes us through an an intimate and exclusive portrait of a year in the life of the Queen and the Royal Family as she celebrates 65 years as sovereign over more than third of the world’s population. With unprecedented access to the Queen inside Buckingham

Palace and other members of the Royal Family including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Anne. The film also includes an intimate interview with the Duchess of Sussex, as she talks about her wedding day for the first time. Drawing on private film archives and treasures of the Royal Collection, the series will offer a unique perspective on the Queen’s role as Head of the Commonwealth as she hands the baton on to the generation of the Royal Family. Queen of the World airs on Wednesdays at 8.30pm from November 4.

Diana Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy is a unique landmark documentary marking 20 years since the tragic death of Diana, Princess of . Their Royal Highnesses Prince William and Prince Harry talk openly for the first time about their mother, and the enduring influence she has had upon their lives. The Princes reveal never before seen family photographs as they reminisce about some of the most joyful and memorable moments from their childhood, and their lasting memories of their mother. The documentary also celebrates the achievements of Diana’s pioneering work and her sons’ determination continue supporting the campaigns that were closest to her . Diana Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy airs on Wednesday, November 18 at 8.30pm.

The Coronation marks the 65th anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s Coronation. The Queen shares her memories of the ceremony, as well as that of her father, King VI, in 1937. Viewing rarely seen film footage and looking at some of the priceless Crown Jewels themselves, Her Majesty The Queen recalls the day when the weight of both the St Edward’s Crown, and the hopes of a nation recovering from war, were placed on her shoulders, as the nation looked to their 27-year old Queen to lead them into a new era. Exploring the role and symbolic meaning of Jewels in the centuries-old coronation ceremony, this programme shows these objects of astonishing beauty as they've never been seen before. Using the Crown Jewels and the Queen’s recollections as its touchstones, The Coronation tells the inside story of this glittering ceremony. The Coronation airs on Wednesday, November 25 at 8.30pm

A Very Royal Wedding tells the story of how the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip captured the hearts of a nation. It celebrates the contributions of all those who made the wedding such a unique occasion, from those on the inside including members of the royal family, through to the jewelers and dressmakers. At the heart of the film are stunning recreations of the engagement ring and the wedding cake. A Very Royal Wedding airs on Wednesday, December 2 at 8.30pm.
