Illinois is home to more than 447 businesses and organizations participating in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program: 77 manufacturers of ENERGY STAR certified products 32 companies supporting certification of ENERGY STAR products and homes 43 companies building ENERGY STAR certified homes, four of which are committed to building 100% ENERGY STAR
as well as many businesses, school districts, governments, and faith-based groups using ENERGY STAR resources to reduce energy waste in their facilities.
Across the state of Illinois 5,204,052 customers are served by ENERGY STAR utility partners 13,151 homes have earned the ENERGY STAR 20,115 buildings (more than 2.5 billion square feet) have been benchmarked Wrigley Building, Chicago, IL. The American Society for Healthcare Engineering in Chicago, has Boeing enrolled more than 2,000 facilities in Energy-to-Care, an City of Chicago assessment and awards program utilizing EPA’s ENERGY STAR ComEd Cushman & Wakefield Portfolio Manager through which participating hospitals have saved more than $127 million. Illinois Office of Energy & Recycling Thirty Illinois buildings competed in the 2016 ENERGY STAR 2016 IREM Battle of the Buildings: BOOTCAMP, saving an estimated $71,251 in ITW Food Equipment Group energy costs in just three months. JLL Sears Holdings Corporation Cushman & Wakefield, a leading real estate firm based in Chicago, earned ENERGY STAR certification for 297 buildings in 2016.
