SUPPORT THE HOBOKEN SHELTER BY RAISING FUNDS TO ELIMINATE THANK YOU FOR FUNDRAISING Founded in 1982, the Shelter was formed by a community of concerned congregation members. Today, the Shelter is a 501c3 organization that's served over 2 million meals to date, has a budget of just over one million dollars, and has a board that is representative of our roots as an organization formed by congregations but is also representative of Hoboken's wonderful community. It is because of the support of the local community that enables us to continue to move from people the streets to the Shelter to a home of their own. The Hoboken Shelter's mission is to be a community partnership that transforms lives by providing meal for the hungry, shelter for the homeless and services to support people to become housed. But we cannot achieve this without your support. During these uncertain times, the Shelter has provided important community support as many have experienced food insecurity due to COVID-19. TAKING ACTION IS AS EASY AS 123!!! By hosting a fundraiser for the Shelter you help us to: 1.) provide services, 2.) educate the public and 3.) inspire community action. This easy to use toolkit can help you in your journey. Every dollar makes a difference. For every $2 raised, we can provide a nutritious meal. Let’s get started!!! TIPS FOR FUN!DRAISING SUCCESS

1. Set a Goal! This will you to succeed.

2. Educate, educate, educate. Spread awareness. Share why you’re doing this. Inform friends, family and your community why ending homeless is so important and why now we must be there for our homeless friends and neighbors.

3. Promote yourself! You’re doing something awesome, don’t hesitate to let people know!

4. Raising Funds: Once your fundraiser is complete send funds to the Shelter. You can accept funds in any means you see fit, cash, checks, Venmo or other form of payment. Then you can send us a check at (300 Bloomfield St. Hoboken, NJ 07030, make checks payable to “Hoboken Shelter” or make payments online at hobokenshelter.org.

Fortunately there is no limit to your creativity! There are many ways to help the Shelter. We ask that you please use our most current logo below and contact XYZ if you have questions. Below are a few popular ideas. Please be sure to download our logo here for use.

COMPANY VOLUNTEERS

Does your company have a volunteer day? Just love the community? We welcome volunteers! **Please note that in light of COVID-19 we have new protocols, but we encourage you to give back** Some suggestions below. 1. Jeans dress down day at the office 2. Virtual happy hour and everyone donates to the Shelter online before joining 3. Make or send sandwiches for lunch or dinner (even better if it’s from a local restaurant 4. Collect items we need or host a drive 5. Sponsor an event 6. Work with a local yoga or spin studio to host an event or do a zoom class and have part of the proceeds go to Shelter. 7. Run the HoBOOken 5K as a team. 8. Run a virtual workshop for the Shelter and encourage employees to donate 9. Corporate Matching – will your company match your ? 10. Inter-departmental competition for supply drives or fundraisers COLLEGE STUDENTS

1. Sell tickets to a sporting event or movie night and have the proceeds go to the Shelter 2. Host a karaoke night and charge an entry fee. Let the business know you are doing a event and hopefully they will work with you. 3. Dance-a-thon, cornhole tournament – you name it and you can do it. Charge a fee to watch or participate and proceeds go to Shelter. 4. Join our established HoBOOken 5K in the fall as a runner and set up a fundraising page! COMMUNITY ORGS & HOUSES OF WORSHIP

1. Host a bake sale or other product event and have proceeds go to to the Shelter. 2. Host a Silent Auction 3. Poker or Bingo Tournament 4. Virtual coffee or happy hour and everyone donates to the Shelter online before joining 5. Make or send sandwiches for lunch or dinner (even better if it’s from a local restaurant 6. Collect items we need or host a drive 7. Sponsor an event 8. Work with a local yoga or spin studio to host an event or do a zoom class and have part of the proceeds go to Shelter. 9. Run the HoBOOken 5K as a team. FAMILY FUNDRAISING!

1. Have a change jar! A fun simple way to raise money. Drop change in at the end of the day. Watch the money grow! 2. Host a lemonade stand or bake sale! 3. Sell a product or service! Ask your parents to post to Instagram. There’s been great fun ideas including a bracelet and logo business! 4. Birthday fundraiser, encourage friends to donate instead of doing gifts or pick one family holiday where you buy gifts for someone else or use part of your budget to donate to the Shelter. 5. Be a social media star – ask a parent if they can post a video to Facebook with you talking about your fundraising! 6. Run the HoBOOken 5K as a family and you and your kid can set up a fundraising page! OTHER IDEAS

1. Selling product night – everyone has a friend who does Mary Kay, Pampered Chef or some other brand, agree to host if a sales rep will donate part of proceeds to the Shelter. 2. Host a happy hour or holiday party in your home and encourage guests to donate online (or we do have text to give!) or bring goods to your home! 3. Run the HoBOOken 5K and start raising funds immediately! 4. Do a birthday or event fundraiser! Having a birthday? Getting married?
