Beijing, April 8th 2018

On April 8th Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen and prime minister witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the president of the University of Science and Technology Zhang Xinxin and the president of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet Prof. Wolf- Dieter Rausch. This will further push of the Austrian-Chinese cooperations in the field of education and increase the international cooperation and exchange of China with countries in East and Central Europe, which are of great importance. This time, president Van der Bellen and prime minister Kurz were accompanied by many Austrian ministers and a delegation of 250 people, which makes it Austria's largest state visit. In the period of the visit to China, China and Austria both issued a „Joint declaration concerning the establishment of friendly strategic partner relationships“. Both sides agreed to further push forward the collaborations concerning universities and scientific research and to work closer together on innovations. Furthermore, many more collaboration agreements were signed. From now on, both sides will continue to initiate cooperations in order to serve the respective countries' developments as well as to achieve a higher level of scientific research. The agreements reached during the state visit of Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen correspond to the guidelines applied by Eurasia-Pacific Uninet: international cooperation in the sphere of education and scientific research. The signing of the collaboration agreements marks an important point in the relationship between Austria and China.
